I am sure many mothers of girls will recognise this, the very cute I-want-to-be-like-mummy stage. I admit it is heartwarming to see how much my three girls look up to me so I am lapping it up while I can, soon enough they will think I am far from fashionable, nice and pretty! Now, it is no secret that I am generally not a big fan of adult fashion on children and prefer to keep my kids sweet and little while I still can but every now and then a lovely kid-friendly alternative pops up that I can’t resist. That’s why it’s a ‘Mama on Monday’ with a twist today…
You may remember that I shared a snap of myself wearing a beautiful camel Charli Bird Cashmere Poncho back in April. It is super soft, luxurious, timeless and the perfect quick layer of warmth to quickly drop the kids at school or pop into the shops. The girls have been intrigued by this snuggly wrap ever since and love copying my style by creating their own ponchos with a big scarf or even a towel.
Obviously that’s not really a look suitable for heading out in so when I discovered this brand new mini-me edition of the Charli Bird poncho I knew they would absolutely love it:
Charli Bird Little Chicks ponchos (RRP $79.95-$99.95) are made from a quality wool blend that’s soft against the skin, they are warm and cosy to wear and easy for kids to put on and take off. I think the two-tone design is really lovely and it adds a fun, cheerful touch to a classic garment. My favourite part about this design is that it ‘grows with your child’: First you can wear it long like a poncho, then as your child gets taller you can wear it shorter like a scarf making it a great investment.
Little Chicks ponchos are currently available in size S/M (ages 3-5) and M/L (ages 6-10) and come in four stylish colours that little minifashionistas will adore: Lollipop, Bubblegum, Blue Heaven and Liquorice.
