What can I say, you don’t know the true luxury of a relaxing warm shower until you find yourself without hot water. Recently our hot water system broke down unexpectedly which left our family of seven out in the cold, literally. But tough as they are even a chilly shower doesn’t stop my tribe from getting clean and scrubbing up while putting the newest ecostore products to the test:

Designed with the young, sensitive skin of children in mind the brand new ecostore Kids range is guaranteed to get your precious little ones squeaky clean and smelling delicious without exposing them to hidden nasties. The ecostore Kids range is safer for you and safer for the world we live in, so it’s a double win! Did you know ecostore uses unique biodegradable renewable sugarcane plastic packaging? It’s just another way they show they care.

From the top of their head to the tips of their wiggly toes, ecostore Kids Foam to the Max (RRP $9.99, 350ml) is sure to get the thumbs up from everyone. As a mum I love the practical 3-in-1 concept (shampoo, conditioner and body wash), the handy pump flacon (one pump is plenty and no waste) and of course the safe plant and mineral based formula that cleanses gently yet thoroughly. At the same time kids love the generous foam for extra bath time fun and the pleasant Pear Pop or Fruity Zing fragrance.

No matter how old you are, we all love the luxurious feeling of sinking into a big sea of bubbles. A little squeeze of ecostore Kids Double Trouble Bubble Maker (RRP $9.99, 400ml) in your bath water is enough to create a fun foam frenzy that will win over even the biggest bath hater. Just keep the bottle away from little hands because they’ll keep wanting to go back for more! Bonus: The Pear Pop scent is absolutely scrumptious.

Now I haven’t tried out this special kids hand soap myself just yet, but the word on the street is that ecostore has successfully made hand washing cool again with the new ecostore Kids Foam it Up (RRP $9.99, 350ml). One bottle of this super soap lasts an enormous 500 pumps, that’s a lot of toilet trips and excellent value for money. The gentle natural formula is safe for little ones aged 2+, putting an end to sticky fingers and greasy hands without using nasty chemicals.

These five fabulous ecostore Kids products are now available at Chemist Warehouse stores across Australia as well as the Chemist Warehouse online store.

This post is brought to you by Heinz

I can’t believe how far baby Hattie has come since she had her tongue tie snipped just almost one year ago. After being sent from GP to paediatrician to ENT specialist we finally ended up at a wonderful oral surgeon who listened to our concerns and rectified the issue in a matter of minutes. In the past eleven months our little girl has changed from a grumpy eater who would keep her mouth firmly shut when first starting solids into a inquisitive lady who loves trying new foods!

Harriet 3

Even though we were a bit late introducing solids Harriet quickly caught up and at 17 months old she now joins us for family dinner every day. When feeding baby solids you may choose to start with single flavours/foods so you can easily detect any possible allergies, thankfully Harriet (unlike her siblings) experienced no dramas with most popular solid food for babies so by now she is eating pretty much everything.

With 4 siblings to look up to it is no surprise Harriet prefers baby food that she can hold herself, so we’re always trying new baby finger food recipes. You can easily use your child’s favourite homemade baby food or Heinz food pouches and make them into fun finger food for babies that they can eat independently. I love that Heinz baby food is Australian made and approved by nutritionists. You can use the handy pouches on their own (at home and on the go) or as a tasty base to create new recipes for toddlers.

The Banana Pikelets with Strawberry and Vanilla Custard, topped with a few slices of kiwi, make a great (messy!) dessert and the Very Berry French Toast is always a hit with all our kids. Toddler food should be sturdy enough to hold, yet soft enough to break for little hands and moderately easy to chew. You can adjust the consistency of your toddler recipes as your baby grows.

Need some more mealtime inspiration? You can find lots of other tried-and-tested baby recipes and toddler food ideas on the Heinz for Baby website, all recipes are quick to prepare and suited to your child’s developmental stage. You can rest assured with Heinz you’re whipping up wholesome baby meals and tasty treats.

If you’ve got a winning recipe to share make sure to drop by at www.facebook.com/HeinzForBabyAustralia so other families can do the taste test too.

EK Books

As a mother of five little ones, and only one of them a picky eater, I can’t really complain. Our kids happily munch away on vegetables, love every single fruit and are always excited to try new foods. If you have a fussy child who needs a bit of gentle encouragement when it comes to healthy eating here’s a gorgeous read by EK Books to win him or her over:

In Our Dog Benji (RRP $19.99) we meet a loveable dog called Benji, a friendly fellow with an impressive appetite. Wherever Benji goes he is jumping at the chance to put his teeth in something tasty and his hunt for food brings him to all kinds of interesting places. He even eats Brussels sprouts, mushrooms, olives and avocado, can you believe that? Of course you don’t have to pretend to like flowers, bones or bugs but maybe you could learn from Benji and try something new from time to time too…

Eeni Meeni logo

Now that our children are back at school I am finally catching up on long overdue jobs in and around the house. Over the school holidays the kids don’t always keep their wardrobes as tidy as I would like, so it was about time I went through their Summer gear, folded everything neatly and put away the clothes that no longer fit. As expected they have grown heaps over Summer and they could all do with a few more pieces to get them through the last of the warm weather…

Thankfully for our tight family budget the Final Summer Sale has just kicked off at our favourite store Eeni Meeni Miini Moh, and who doesn’t love the sound of half price shopping? You better run, as this awesome sale ends February 21, 2017.

Now I know that there are plenty of gorgeous sale styles to choose from, but if I may put forward a personal favourite it would have to be the gorgeous Ties Dress (was $64.95, now $32.48). Our darling Juliet has been wearing this sweet frock all summer and I am still madly in love with it, plus it washes extremely well.

Pan Macmillan Australia

Now that kindy and school are back in full swing it won’t be long until little people around the country will start bringing home the famous ‘class bear’. Be patient, your turn will come! These thoroughly loved teddies generally join a different family every weekend and come back the next week to share their outings with the class. But not this time, when The Everywhere Bear embarks on an adventure like no other…

Super talented Julia Donaldson (with the help of artist Rebecca Cobb) tells the story of the Class One, a wonderfully diverse mix of students, Mrs. McAllister and of course The Everywhere Bear. One rainy Monday morning on his way to school the Everywhere Bear falls out of Matt’s backpack and so an exciting journey begins. From swimming to sailing to soaring the sky, from falling and floating to fish ready to fry, living up to his name the teddy travels far and wide but in the end he thankfully makes it back to class where he is welcomed back with open arms.

The Everywhere Bear is a gorgeous picture book filled with beautiful, colourful pictures that young children will love. There is lots to see on every page and the rhyming story is sure to keep little listening ears engaged. I love the detailed artwork and the (cultural) diversity of the characters in the story. I can’t wait to share it with our children’s class!
