Diary of a Wimpy Kid

After a very hot Christmas I’m rather happy with the cool change and the garden is loving the rain, even the kids don’t mind being stuck inside thanks to all the awesome books they received for Christmas. Every now and then I hear some giggling coming from the corner, proof that even after 11 books the Diary of Wimpy Kid series still delivers:

Sometimes you have to be creative to get what you want, something Greg is surprisingly good at in Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Double Down (RRP $14.99). When Greg’s mum hides all the Halloween candy Greg decides to cheat in the school’s balloon competition to win a huge jar of candy corn, except things don’t go exactly as planned and he finds himself stuck with a rather awkward new playmate. To score himself an invitation to a popular Halloween party Greg even goes as far as to join the school band, but playing the French horn turns out to be much harder than he thought it would be.

Unfortunately the truth comes out at the school concert and his dad is far from pleased. Finding himself stuck on home detention and forced to properly learn to play the impossible French horn, without Halloween candy to keep him going, Greg decides to make a scary movie with the help of his friend Rowley…
