Although it has been almost ten years since I moved to Australia, I am still not 100% used to the different seasons. With Autumn just starting, leaves falling and the temperature (hopefully!) soon dropping I feel we should be getting ready for Christmas. I love cold, white Christmases and family gathering around a warm, cosy fire so I’ll never say no to a lovely Christmas movie, even if it’s March:
In Love The Coopers we meet the Cooper family and learn a little bit about the different family members, what is going on in their life and what is on their mind as they prepare for their annual Christmas Eve gathering. The whole idea of a happy, joyful family sharing a peaceful meal together may seem like fun but behind the scenes all the guests have their own worries and problems. From marriages that are falling apart to lost jobs and from affairs to teenage crushes and even shoplifting… it looks like Christmas with The Coopers is not going to be the picture perfect celebration everyone is hoping for.
Parents Charlotte and Sam pretend their 40 years marriage is still going strong, daughter Eleanor picks up a pretend boyfriend at the airport, son Hank keeps his job termination from his family and sister Emma tries to convince a police officer to let her off, but in the end all blows up and they are forced to face reality. It’s an eye opener for all as they realise that what they were searching for is right there in front of them.
Love The Coopers is a warm and funny Christmas comedy with an all star cast: Diane Keaton, John Goodman, Olivia, Amanda Seyfried, Jake Lacy, Ed Helms and more.
Love The Coopers is now available on DVD (RRP $29.95) at all good retail stores across Australia.
