They may be twins but our 6-year old son and daughter are like chalk and cheese in many ways. Our son has been a big reader for as long as I can remember, yet for his sister the reading homework was always a chore she’d rather forget about. However a few months ago she finally caught the reading bug too and now she is always asking me for new books: ‘Can I have another novel Mummy?’ Her favourite themes are princesses, fairies and horses so I know this new title from the Wildnerness Fairies book series will be very welcome:
Daisy’s Gift (RRP $9.99) is the 5th title in the Wilderness Fairies series, written by Australian author Jodie Wells-Slowgrove and illustrated by Kerry Millard. The time has finally come for fairy Daisy to join the other fairies at Hakea College. As Daisy is blessed with a special gift of being able to hear the thoughts of humans, she is learning to use this skill safely and wisely.
Impatient as she is Daisy refuses to wait and learn, and when an exciting opportunity arises she heads out unaccompanied and crosses The Borders to where the humans live… soon Daisy gets into big trouble, will she be able to hide from the humans and make it back to Hakea College safe and sound?
