After four babies you’d think I have built up quite the maternity wardrobe but the truth is that very few pieces make it all the way. Quality and durability is sadly not that easy to find these days and I discovered that pretty much only the maternity clothes I purchased in The Netherlands (where I am from originally) were able to withstand the test of time. You can imagine my excitement when I discovered that European designer label Happy Mum is now available to hip Aussie mamas too:
At Happy Mum Maternity they understand that expecting mothers want to dress their growing baby bump with style and class, they feel maternity fashion should be on trend, easy to wash and wear and comfortable at the same time. The every growing range of Happy Mum maternity and breastfeeding clothing ticks all the boxes whilst upholding the high quality standards all mamas expect and deserve.
Sporty or chic, bright and patterned or plain and simple, within the range you’ll find lots of fantastic looks that will flatter your growing bump beautifully and even allow for easy and discreet breastfeeding once your baby has been born, Happy Mum clothing proudly last well beyond the pregnancy stage making it a great investment. Happy Mum is hugely popular with both pregnant and non-pregnant women alike and I can definitely see why.
As you’ve probably worked out I love dresses so I figured this casual but classy Weekend Dress (RRP $129, size S-L) with side pockets would be the perfect addition to my winter wardrobe (and of course you can wear it on weekdays too!). I love the soft and stretchy tricot fabric that grows with your tummy, the versatile grey colour that is easy to mix and match and the handy button down front for breastfeeding later on. I also love the matching belt that enhances your curves by visually separating your belly from your bust.
So far I have worn the dress with leggings and boots for a lazy shopping trip on the weekend as well as jeans and hi-tops on a cool day. Matched with black you can create a more classic look while teamed up with navy the dress has a more sporty feel to it. You can even wear it open like a thin jacket over a crisp white tee and skinny denim, the options are endless. I have got the feeling this will become a much loved post-baby garment for me while I get back into shape as the material is very forgiving and comfortable.
