A few weeks ago the twins were asked to bring their favourite book to school and master 6 (again!) brought in Max, just like last year. The gorgeous illustrations never lose their shine and the kids can look at them over and over again. I have no doubt that Marc Martin‘s latest release is going to be another huge hit:
A River (RRP $24.99) is an absolutely beautiful picture book that will truly capture the reader’s imagination. Look through the window, hop on board of the little silver boat and follow the journey of the river.
Through the city, beside the factories, alongside farms, in the midst of the forest, straight through the jungle, down water falls… flick the pages to see where the river takes that small silver boat. The combination of poetic words that flow like the water and eye catching pictures that draw in little eyes is simply perfect.
We’ve already read A River several times and all our kids love it. Our 2-year likes looking at the pictures and spotting the boat on each page, whilst miss 4 loves the excitement leading up to the roaring water fall. You don’t need to make funny sounds or interesting voices to make this book ‘work’, just read the words and the story will stream like the water.
