I am sure you have all seen them on Facebook, the ‘Remember these?’ photos with typical things from the past. I always find them very interesting because most of the time I don’t even know what they are! Not because I am too young (in some cases I am) but because I didn’t grow up in Australia. However certain things were popular all around the globe, who didn’t dream of owning one of the gorgeous Cabbage Patch Kids dolls? Everyone loved them!

Of course over time the Cabbage Patch Kids dolls have changed a little but many mums will still cherish the memory of that very first Cabbage Patch Kid from 1983 (my birth year). When just released these dolls were such a big hit that stores sold out in no time! Now nearly 30 years later a special range of Limited Vintage Edition Cabbage Patch Kids dolls has been released so today’s children can once again enjoy thisย original design dressed in typical 80’s outfits.

Just like in the olden days these gorgeous kids have soft wool hair and stitched soft bodies, they will make you relive your childhood all over again. There areย multiple Limited Vintage Edition dolls to choose from: dark hair, blond hair, red hair and even a boy, of course each with a different outfit and a different personality. Your child will love receiving the adoption papers for his/her new Cabbage Patch Kid!

The Cabbage Patch Kids Limited Vintage Edition dolls ($79.99) are available from all major retailers and independent toy stores across Australia.

To find out more about Cabbage Patch Kids, to take a closer look at the dolls and to locate a stockist near you visit www.missionfuturetoys.com.au.

For your chance to win 1 of 3 Cabbage Patch Kids Limited Vintage Edition Dolls answer the following question: Who would you like to surprise with one of these gorgeous dolls on Christmas morning?

Submit your answer by leaving a comment below, your email address will not be published.

If you really want to win you can earn up to ten additional entries, please leave separate comments for each entry:

Competition ends December 8, 2012. Sorry, Australian entries only. By entering you agree to our Terms & Conditions.

  1. Asi only have little boys – my gorgeous little neice! I would be the most popular Aunty ever – on Christmas Yippee!

    • I was born in 76.On my 7th birthday(1983) I received the Cabbage Patch Record I loved it so much.I knew the words to every song my Fav was (OTIS LEE, OTIS LEE THERE AIN’T NO MATCH IN THE CABBAGE PATCH,OTIS LEE.)When Xmas came around that year all I wanted was my own doll to adopt. On that special I couldn’t wait ripped open the paper to find a Cabbage Patch doll in a clear plastic bag not in a pretty box with adoption papers.I pulled down his pants only to find there was no green signature on his bottom I was devastated. Its funny after all these years it is such a vivid memory.I now have a 4 year old girl Hayley and I would love to see her face on Xmas morning opening up her pressies to find a beautiful Cabbage Patch Kid to adopt.

      • I was also born in 1976 and was googling to try to find the Cabbage Patch record to get for my daughter for Christmas. I loved Otis Lee…and Lavender McDade and the rest of the songs. Do they make that music on a CD? I bet your 4-yr old would love it too!

    • I’d love for my lil grand daughter to wake up Christmas morning to one of these sweet dolls – xx

    • I loved looking around site this morning… could stay all day in my pj’s with my daughter here on the couch..anyway I found a fairy cottage at Petit… soo cute, daughter and frinds love Dinousours found pack of 6 moveable dino’s at Ruby The Dodo site, and a girl can’t go anywhere without her shoes and Marilyn Munroe said with the right pair of shoes you can concore the world. Found Frog Sweet Daisy Mary shoes from Mickey House…. just beautiful, and with a new pregnancy and heaps of baby showers coming up I was looking for something extra special and found Ayan Organics- Welcome little one’s gift pack at Avidiva… it sounds lovely organic massage oil, lavender and colendula bottom cream with a bamboo washer. How lovely dose that sound? Can’t wait to see what else I can find…

      • just did my first ever tweet. technology… my 13 year old daughter is so effient with it and I am lost in some time warp. Luckily miss 2.5 isn’t as advanced … well except with the tv and dvd player ohh and mobile…ohh my goodness I feel like a dinosour! anyway I do know if we won a new cabbage patch doll she’d be so excited and I am pretty sure cookie monster would be kicked out of the pram with all it’s privellages lol and her new doll would be going on exciting adventures with her including the pool on thursdays, mainly music classes wednesday shopping drives and Nanna’s to show off her very 2nd new doll. I did buy her 1 when she was teething… mind you she dose have a couple nice new teds and cookie monster was new when her Uncle gave it to her last christmas.

    • I would love to give this to my niece she has just had a little brother so would love a baby of her own

    • I would LOVE to surprise my 17month old son with one of these beautiful dolls. Yes, that’s right my son. At his family day care, they have just purchased some soft babies, and my boy is fascinated by them. It melts my heart watching him cradle the bub and babble to it.
Additionally, it would be wonderful to receive this gorgeous doll. As a girl I desperatley wanted a cabbage patch doll, never did happen. Maybe after 29 years (yes I’m an 83 bub) it’s time to invite one into our home.

    • My daughter in law was diagnosed with cancer. She has spent a lot of time in hospital and missing out on school. Her school want to give her a surprise visit for Xmas. She has a wide collection of dolls that we sold to get money for some of her treatments. I would love to surprise her with a new cabbage patch doll. She would be so happy and my husbands and I belied it will give her strength and courage to keep on fighting. Thank you for reading my entry

    • would love to give one of these to my daughter i still have the one my mum lined up for in the 80s for 6 hours to get for me…hopefully i wont have to do the same for my little princess

    • I would LOVE to find her under my tree for myself! I may be 57 but l still love dolls and she would bring back memories of my daughter when she was a little girl!
I remember making her cabbage patch doll a replica school dress to ease my daughter into her first day at school!
My daughter is nearly 32 now, but the image of her little ponytails bouncing eagerly in the school gate, with her cabbage patch doll swinging from her little hand, will always be one of my best memories!

  2. All our girls bar 1 have grown into fine young ladies, but for my little 7 year old Amy, who is the littlest light of my life, we still get to play dolls and dress up ๐Ÿ˜€ so just for her (and a bit for mummy too) i will nominate her as who i would love to win this prize for <3 Good Luck everybody ๐Ÿ˜€

  131. My daughter, she is going to have a serious operation 7 days before Christmas. The doctor told us not to get her too excited on Christmas Day so a doll or some DVDs would be some quiet time! Just to see her smile would make my Christmas.

I was given a Cabbage Patch Doll when I was around her age, I couldn’t keep smiling when I met my Stacey who had her own birthday near my own but hey that just shows my age now doesnt it?

  132. i would surprise my 3 year old son. he loves babies. and i loved the little boy cabbage patch dolls when i was a child. tho if i were to get a little girl cabbage patch doll. my neice and my sister would love to have have a cabbage patch doll in their home. i know growing up they were our fave toys.

  133. As a child my cabbage patch doll was the BEST thing I ever owned! I even still have it – only one of two toys I kept from my childhood. Having only boys myself, I would give this doll to a little girl I know, who’s family is really struggling this Christmas, as both her mum & dad recently got laid off. So this doll would ensure a special Christmas for this little girl x

She’s laughter, warmth, and a special charm – she knows nothing but love.
My daughter brings me so much joy, that comes from deep inside.
And as she grows into a “little girl”, she fills my heart with pride.
With every year that passes, she’s more special than before.
Through every stage, through every age, I love her more and more.
No words can describe the memories, the pride and gratitude, too.
That comes from having a daughter, that loves and looks up to you.

She simply loves them to bits,
    They bring her total joy,

For Princess this Christmas will be a surpise,
To see a Cabbage Patch Kid under a tree, a superb prize.

  190. My little nephew, yes you read right! He’s only two, but loves his sister’s Cabbage Patch doll. The poor thing becoming the centre of many squabbles. And I’m a firm believer that little boys CAN play with dolls and grow up OK. This way when my sister has a cow, I can tell her I won it (will soften things a little!). My nephew will be in heaven with this gift.

  191. Myself!!! I wanted one of these sooooo badly when I was little but Santa and Mum never came through with the goods. Seriously, I want to surprise my little girl because she, like me, wants one too.

  192. I would love to surprise my little girl with one of these on Christmas morning!!
I was born in 1978 & got one just like this for Christmas in 1983 & I loved it soo much it was my all time favourite toy from my childhood I remember taking it with me everywhere & it was the one toy I kept from my childhood!! Yes I still have my old, well loved tattered original cabbage patch doll & I still love her very much. I know my daughter would love hers just the same if she were able to have one!

  193. I would love to surprise my daughter, I didn’t get a cabbage Patch Doll until I was older and I would love her to have one that she can love for more years then I got to with mine.

I would love to give my 20 month old niece one of these for Christmas, her Uncle and I don’t get to see her often, I know gifts don’t make up for the lack of time we are unable to see her, but after everything this little girl has been through in the last year, a smile and a laugh from her would be lovely.

  216. I was born in 76.On my 7th birthday(1983) I received the Cabbage Patch Record I loved it so much.I knew the words to every song my Fav was (OTIS LEE, OTIS LEE THERE AINโ€™T NO MATCH IN THE CABBAGE PATCH,OTIS LEE.)When Xmas came around that year all I wanted was my own doll to adopt. On that special I couldnโ€™t wait ripped open the paper to find a Cabbage Patch doll in a clear plastic bag not in a pretty box with adoption papers.I pulled down his pants only to find there was no green signature on his bottom I was devastated. Its funny after all these years it is such a vivid memory.I now have a 4 year old girl Hayley and I would love to see her face on Xmas morning opening up her pressies to find a beautiful Cabbage Patch Kid to adopt.

  217. I was born in 1971, so a bit early, I think, for the first Cabbage Patch Doll craze of the 1980’s… My sister was born in 1975 and when she was around five, she received a Cabbage Patch Doll for Xmas. I wanted one, too, but my Mother told me I was too old for one. My little sister undressed the doll and lost her clothes, and combed her hair until it fell out and then left her out on the trampoline in the rain…and I had wanted one so badly…! That would NEVER have happened to mine! When I had my first daughter, when I was nearly 30, I couldn’t wait to buy her first Cabbage Patch Doll, but I had it well-drummed into her that she must take care of it… Or it would become Mummy’s! Now, my second daughter has one too and it is time for my third daughter, four year Isabella to receive hers… I am definitely making up for not getting one myself when I was a child!

If Sofia was lucky enough to be chosen as the mummy for one of the cabbage patch dolls, she would cherish her dimples, cuddle her dearly and tuck her into bed each night. 236. My beautiful daughter who loves dolls and it would be magical to see her playing with the same type of doll I did all those years ago.

  237. My mum because she would laugh until her sides hurts. You see when these first arrived on the shelves (way back when..) I showed them to my mum and at exactly the same time we both said “Gee, that doll looks like Auntie ……!”. I have a few Aunts so I won’t say which one. Since then every time we see a “beautiful” Cabbage patch kid we both burst into laughter!!!

  238. I’d love to win one of these for my daughter, she is almost three and would just adore one! She is about to become a big sister and is very keen to care for her dolls.

I’m sure my daughter would love a vintage edition doll for fond memories of her past and a future keepsake for another generation.

She came with me everywhere…climbing trees, swimming in the pool (yes in the pool) and on picnics. She was one of the family and still is. My eldest daughter who is 7 now shares fun daily activities with Millicent and believe it or not she is still in fantastic condition. I would love for my other daughter who is 6 to recieve a CPK on christmas day so she can also experience the joy a Cabbage Patch Kid can bring and I would be a very happy observer of their adventures!

Iโ€™d love for Grace to have one for this Christmas from me.
Grace would give her first Vintage Cabbage Patch a beautiful home.
She promises to never leave it alone.
In her care it will flourish, discover and shine.
Grace would be the dolls best friend for all time.

  443. I would like to surprise my niece with a Cabbage Patch doll on Christmas day! Growing up my sister and I always played with them – we even had birthday parties for them with our friends! I would love her to experience the joy of a Cabbage Patch doll as well.

  447. I would love to surprise my 5 year old daughter. Ever since she’s seen the cabbage patch dolls on tv she’s wanted one and I had always wanted one as a child but was never able to receive one. If we win, we’ll both get to enjoy the doll that all little girls should have.

  448. My beautiful 4 year old daughter as she was given my old one from when I was a little girl and it is looking very old but very loved and to give her one of her own would be very magical.

  449. I would love to give my daughter Savannah a cabbage patch doll. I had one as a child and Sylvia, my baby, was my pride and joy. I would love to pass on the joy to my daughter!

Still many a heartache, still many a tear,
She asks if Nana will come back as a baby,
I don’t try to explain, just tell her “Maybe”,
But if she won this doll of one thing I’m sure,
Her name would be Alice, to forever adore.

  461. I have a son, but I’m a big believer that all kids should have access to dolls (not matter what gender). Dolls help them engage in imaginative play and learn the basic lessons in taking care of another ‘being’. So I’d love one for under the Christmas tree to give to my little one!

  464. I would surprise my little girl…but HOW I would surprise her would hopefully be memorable for her! I would wait until she is asleep Christmas Eve, and then sneak her lovely Cabbage Patch Doll into her bed, so when she wakes up Christmas Day she is already cuddling her first (and probably favourite!) present. How special! <3

  465. My 2 year old daughter loves her baby / doll, and is a real little mummy to her. She’d be delighted to add to her little brood.

  466. My four-year-old daughter Zoe. She simply adores them and she knows that Mummy had one when she was a little girl too.

  467. I gave my daughter one when they first come out so now I would love to give her daughter one for Christmas day just like her mum.

  468. I would love to surprise my daughter Chloe with one of these gorgeous dolls on Christmas morning.

Mine was named Lucy Leila but for some reason I didn’t like the name Lucy so changed it to Casanne (?!). My sister’s doll was bald apart from a tiny tuft of hair. Her doll was named Celeste, but my dad always used to call it slopehead much to my sister’s disgust!
