It’s time to get your Mickey Mouse ears ready! The countdown is on until Disney On Ice twirls its way into Australia and Disney fans of all ages are starting to get very excited. The chilly weather has well and truly arrived here in Adelaide and there’s no better way to enjoy the cold than with ice skates on.

Last weekend we were lucky enough to get a little taste of the Disney magic to come when we hit the ice at Adelaide’s Ice Arena and got to meet Mickey Mouse up close… My girls’ hopes of ever becoming a Disney princess on ice skates may not be very likely to come true (staying upright was a lot harder than they expected!) but they had so much fun!

The real Disney On Ice cast is unbelievably talented and seeing them perform some of their mind-blowing moves was a fabulous treat. Where we were wobbly they were whirling, we were a little shaky and scared but they are simply spectacular… One thing is clear: the audience is in for an amazing experience with Disney On Ice celebrates Mickey and Friends!

If you haven’t booked your tickets just yet there is still time, thanks to the addition of extra shows throughout the country now even more people will be able to enjoy the magic of Disney On Ice. During the checkout process you can take a look at the seating plan of your local venue and select your family’s preferred seats (but of course there is plenty to see all around the rink so the view is great from every angle!). Children under 23 months are free if seated on their parents’ lap and concession tickets are available.

The uggs are back in use, the woodfire is on and the beds are made with flannelette sheets… the cold season has well and truly arrived! She may be old enough for a proper girl bed, but Hattie is definitely not big enough to manage the sheets and keep her quilt on throughout the night. Of course I hate to think that she’s laying there in the cold, so I trust ergoPouch to keep her warm all night long:

Super soft, padded and snuggly warm, stepping into a ergoPouch 2.5 TOG Winter Sleep Suit (RRP $64.95) is pretty much like being wrapped up in a cosy quilt that fits your body like a glove. I secretly wish they made these awesome sleep suits in my size too!

Over the years ergoPouch has become known around the globe for its dedication to natural fibres, offering parents a safe choice for their baby and the environment. By avoiding nasty chemicals and itchy synthetic fabrics ergoPouch has also earnt the tick of approval from the Eczema Association, great peace of mind for those with sensitive skin! The Winter Sleep Suit outer is made with 95% organic cotton with a touch of elastane to allow active kids to move around freely, while the thick 100% organic cotton filling keeps cold chills at bay with a 2.5 TOG rating.

As Hattie is past the sleeping bag stage the Winter Sleep Suit is the perfect next step, it’s just as comfortable and warm and at the same time it allows her to hop in and out of bed by herself and walk around too. Dressing your little sleepy head and midnight nappy checks/changes are a breeze thanks to the special three-way zip, opening up both the front and back. It also has super handy fold-over cuffs at the wrists (up to size 2) and ankles, allowing you to cover tiny toes and little hands in just a flash.

At 18 months old miss Hattie is proving to be a lady of few words, just like Sybil was. She may not say much but Harriet is very clear in what she likes (and dislikes!) and sure knows how to use her vocal cords when it comes to her favourite song. With three older sisters who are crazy about Frozen it is no surprise she can already ‘sing’ along too and I can’t wait to see four sets of little eyes light up next month when we surprise them with a visit to Disney On Ice presents Frozen:

From the moment the world first met royal sisters Anna and Elsa and fell head-over-heels in love with Olaf back in 2013 (really, it has been that long!) everyone has been waiting impatiently for the Frozen cast to put on their ice-skates once again and slide onto the smooth, slippery floor of Disney On Ice. Well the wait is over and they’re about to whirl into Australia, Disney On Ice presents Frozen arrives in Perth on June 2 and will visit Adelaide, Wollongong, Newcastle, Brisbane, Melbourne with the curtains closing in Sydney on July 17, 2017. Hot off the press: Due to overwhelming demand, Disney On Ice presents Frozen will return to Melbourne on July 22 and 23 for three additional shows. Grab your tickets while you can!

It promises to be a dazzling 2-hour experience featuring all your much-loved Frozen friends, your all-time favourite couple Mickey and Minnie as well as a host of beautiful Disney princesses and even a visit from loveable characters from Toy Story, Finding Nemo and The Lion King. With such a stellar cast the show is sure to please guests of all ages and I just love how the characters move around the entire stage so that every spectator, no matter where they sit, gets a great view of their personal faves.

Get ready to be amazed by a magical mix of dancing and singing, jaw dropping stunts and mind-blowing costumes, if you’ve every had the joy of seeing Disney On Ice you know it is a memory that will be treasured forever. Eeni Meeni Miini Moh Autumn/Winter 2017 is here!

Eeni Meeni logo

I won’t lie, I have found this first back-to-school week rather stressful. As a result I *may* have indulged in a bit of online shopping therapy to get me through, please tell me I am not the only one? I love seeing the new Autumn/Winter styles slowly arriving into stores and I can’t wait to get started on the kids’ wardrobes for next season. Need some inspiration? The brand new Eeni Meeni Miini Moh collection has just been released and here are my favourites:

Now that she is a big kindy girl miss Sybil is working very hard at dressing herself in the morning, I think this stripey Boatneck Dress (RRP $64.95, size 12m – 5) would make a fabulous ‘easy’ kindy dress that is soft, comfortable and easy to put on and take off. Just add a pair of tights/leggings to make urgent toilet breaks a breeze too, there’s no time to wrestle with buttons or zips!

At almost 17 months old Harriet is no longer a baby, she’s running around everywhere and turning out to be quite the independent, cheeky toddler. Purple hues look amazing on her, so my pick for her would be the pretty Owl Frill Top in gorgeous Vervain Marle, matched up with the funky Indigo Marle Skegging (RRP $49.95, size 12m – 5). How cute is the ‘left’ and ‘right’ heart detail on the knees? So adorable.

I know that after a whole week in school uniform my girls are always looking forward to putting on something bright, comfortable and girly. Olivia would absolutely love the vibrant ‘lipstick’ hue of the Hoodie Dress (RRP $74.95, size 2-12) , but if your little lady prefers something a bit more subtle the dress is available in black marle too. I think it would make a great outfit for a relaxed winter weekend.

If you were to ask Juliet you can never go wrong with some bright pink and silver shine, take this sweet mix + match combi with the Relaxed Paris TopStriped Skegging (RRP $49.95, size 2-8) and as the star of the show the Silver Foil Gathered Skirt (RRP $69.95, size 2-12). The three styles look amazing together but can also easily be worn with other colours and garments that are already in your child’s wardrobe so you can create a range of different looks.

Last but not least our one and only boy who is growing so fast I can hardly keep up, can you believe he is already wearing the same shoe size as his mum? With the cooler season in mind I think the Gauge Knit Sweater (RRP $79.95, size 2-8) is a great mix of cool and classy. The Mist Marle is neutral yet adds a little touch of colour to an often dark and grey season. Team it up with the super relaxed Dude Pant (RRP $84.95, size 2 -12) and you’ve got yourself a winning combo that is sure to get the thumbs up from your favourite guy.

I may not have a little man to dress right now but that won’t stop me admiring all the stylish new Eeni Meeni boys gear. This season is far from boring with some great bright flashes mixed in with the timeless greys, blue and green tones. I love it when kids are allowed to be kids and can show a bit of spunk and personality through their wardrobe, you’re only young for a little while!
