Our poor little Hattie can’t catch a break lately. After months of teething trouble her two bottom teeth have only just appeared and now the next two chompers are already making their way down. Nothing is safe from her sharp new toothy pegs so we are keeping teething toys on hand 24/7. If you are looking for a teething toy that ticks al the boxes you will love this awesome design by Jellystone Designs:

Jellystone Designs Rainbow Stacker

Designed right here in Australia and made with soft, safe, food grade silicone that is free from nasties like BPA and Phthalates the colourful Rainbow Teether Stacker (RRP $19.99, all ages) is sure to turn that grumpy frown upside down in a heartbeat.

Rainbow StackerCheeky tots will go crazy for the Rainbow Teether Stacker for many reasons: Its vibrant rainbow colours are appealing for little eyes, the washable pieces easy to hold for small hands and the interesting shapes and textures provide much needed relief for sore gums. And then there is the educational aspect, this clever stacking toy is a fantastic fine motor skills exercise and a fun way to learn different colours at the same time.

Being the preparation-princess that I am slowly starting to work on the kids’ backpacks for our holiday later in the year. Spending almost 24 hours on planes and airports (one way) our little travellers will need to come packed with entertainment that is big in fun yet small in size AND weight.

Crayola Syb

For the little two I have already popped a few Crayola goodies in their luggage. By the time we go on holiday they will be 1 and 3 years old which is the perfect age for the My First Crayola range:

Palm Grip CrayonAlthough she is still a bit too small for arts and crafts right now I can imagine Harriet will want to copy her older siblings soon enough. The My First Crayola Palm-Grip Crayons (RRP $9.49, 3-pack) are designed for the hands of tiny little artists aged just 12 months and older. The unique egg shape of these brightly coloured Palm-Grip Crayons makes them easy to hold and allows children to colour from every angle.

My First Color and Sticker BookWith 24 pages and 40 stickers the My First Crayola Color & Sticker Book (RRP $3.99) offers excellent value for money. Between the colouring pages and stickers there is lots of designing and storytelling to be done, so it’s perfect for keeping busy bees entertained in the car or waiting room. There are three different books to choose from: At the Farm, Under the Sea and Just Hatched.

Crayola Easy-Grip CrayonsWe’ve been using the My First Crayola Easy-Grip Triangular Crayons (RRP $6.29, 8-pack) at home for quite some time and I find they are a great tool to teach children how to correctly hold a pen or pencil. Even though she is only three Sybil has really mastered the correct writing grip and her drawings are very precise which will be a great preparation for kindy and primary school.

Crayola Washable MarkersAs precise as Sybbie is about drawing on paper, she is just as detailed when decorating our walls or applying ‘body art’, something I am not too keen on. The My First Crayola Ultra-Clean Washable Markers (RRP $8.49, 8-pack) can be washed off walls, furniture and clothing so they’re a real sanity saver. The rounded, ball-shaped tip is a sturdy, durable choice for toddlers who press a tad too hard when colouring as it can not be crushed (or peeled off by inquisitive little hands).

ENJO Floor Cleaner (+ special ENJO offer!)

ENJO

Earlier in the year I told you how we keep our kitchen clean, shiny and germ free the natural way with Enjo. Ever since we discovered the magic of Enjo Fibres I have been tossing up about the Enjo Floor Cleaner; our floors need cleaning every single day (sometimes even twice or three times a day), it looks so easy to use and if it works as well as our Enjo Kitchen Glove and Cloths it would be absolutely perfect, but is it worth the expense?

As you know I like to do my research and compare my options before I buy so it is important to know what makes the Enjo Floor Cleaner (RRP $99) different than regular floor cleaners. The extra long Enjo Floor Cleaner Handle is light in weight, simple to assemble and use, comfortable to hold and manoeuvre and it slides under furniture easily. Giving the kitchen floor a quick wipe down after dinner takes just a few short minutes and requires very little effort making it ideal for busy mums and dads and well lived-in kitchens like ours. However the real difference is in the special Enjo Floor Fibres you use to wipe the floor with.

Enjo Floor FibresI know it is hard to believe, and I didn’t believe it either until I witnessed it with my own eyes, but Enjo Fibres work their magic with just a squirt of water. There is no need for nasty chemicals or detergent, there is no sticky residue and you can reuse the fibres over and over again, just wash them in the your washing machine and you’re ready for your next clean. Using nothing but water Enjo Fibres remove 95-100% of bacteria so can keep your home healthy and clean and children and pets can play on the floor safely.

There are six different Enjo Floor Fibres (RRP $99) to choose from, each type of fibre suits a different floor type so you can achieve perfect results on every floor. Wooden floors, tiles, bamboo, vinyl, lino, marble, concrete, there is an Enjo Floor Fibre that is right for you. The cleaner head simply slides into the floor fibre like an envelope and you’re good to go, unlike disposable wipes that come undone easily and need ‘tucking in’ repeatedly the Enjo Floor Fibre stays perfectly in place no matter what angle you use it on or how hard you push. When you’re done just unlock the cleaner head with your foot to remove the floor fibre for rinsing or washing.

Enjo Floor Cleaner Pack

The verdict? Considering the impressive 3-year life span of Enjo Fibres, the eliminated need for special floor cleaners and wipes full of nasty chemicals, the absence of chemical residue afterwards and the ease of use (and less waste) compared to other alternatives on the market the Enjo Floor Cleaner is well worth the investment. Yes it is a big expense at first but now I won’t have to buy any floor cleaning products for 3 years and it is healthier for my family too! Christmas has come early for me and I couldn’t be happier with our new floor cleaner.

Receive a FREE Limited Edition Green Floor Cleaner (RRP $99) when you buy any two Enjo Floor Fibres. Offer is valid while stock lasts so be quick and order your preferred Floor Fibres today.

Penguin Australia

As you may have guessed our bookshelf has a mix of English and Dutch books on it and of some titles we even have both the Dutch and the English version. I guess it says something about the popularity of a book when it is translated in multiple languages and the kids love comparing the words. Whether you call him Rupsje Nooitgenoeg (Caterpillar Neverenough) or The Very Hungry Caterpillar, everyone loves this adventurous little critter and his insatiable appetite and now even the youngest kids can start enjoying Eric Carle:

Eric Carle Cloth Book

The Very Hungry Caterpillar: Cloth Book is a gorgeous soft and very huggable cloth book that makes a wonderful first introduction to the famous Eric Carle story. There are eight colourful pages featuring eye catching illustrations accompanied by some simple words and sentences, teaching babies a selection of fruits and other easy words like moon, stars and leaf.

Hungry Caterpillar

Whether you just read what’s on the pages, stick to the original Eric Carle story or use your imagination and create your own version, there is lots of room for variety. Practise the names of the fruit or talk about different colours, it’s amazing how much you can with this sweet book. Little ones will love flicking through the pages, you don’t have to worry about your baby bending or ripping them and there’s no chance of accidental eye poking with sharp corners.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar: Cloth Book comes packaged in a beautiful gift box making it a perfect present for a new arrival or a baby shower.
