Toothbrushing, it is so important and it has to be done but what a struggle it can be with small children. When you have finally conquered the first challenge, getting them to open their mouths and do so for 2 minutes, the second challenge is just around the corner: getting them to spit out the toothpaste as opposed to swallowing it. One of the twins seems to get it now but number two finds it a lot harder to understand and I have been worried about her swallowing all the toothpaste. I was getting rather desperate until I spotted the Jack n’ Jill range at Avidiva!

Jack n’ Jill is dedicated to provide modern parents with a safe and eco friendly alternative to regular tooth paste and tooth brushes. The Jack n’ Jill Natural Toothpaste ($5.85) doesn’t just look delicious (the packaging is just gorgeous), it tastes delicious too with choice of 5 yummy natural flavours. Little anti-toothbrushing activists are won over in no time with flavours like raspberry, banana and blueberry. The toothpaste contains xylitol to fight tooth decay, organic calendula to soothe gums and organic flavour and it is sugar-, colour-, SLS- and preservative free making it 100% safe for young children (very important since they often swallow it)!

The Jack N’ Jill Bio Toothbrush features soft, rounded nylon bristles and a unique compostable and biodegradable handle that is made from 100% corn starch. When it is time to replace your toothbrush you can rest assured that your used Bio Toothbrush (handle only) will take just 90 days to break down in a commercial compost. How amazing is that? No more need to add more plastic toothbrushes to the overflowing landfill. There are two different designs to choose from and they costs $4.95 each.

With the baby practising her walking skills she needs some (pre-)walkers and I think these Charli Bear Ballet Shoes ($34.95) are perfect. The red colour is nice and fresh for the summer ahead and they are made with soft leather and cotton lining so they are comfortable and breathable. The Charli Bear shoes are designed with elastic around the ankle so they stay put and I am hoping the ballet shoe shape will fit her chubby baby feet.
