Roshambo Baby

Like many other school mums I spent last week at the pool to help out with Swim Week. I was very relieved to make it through the week without forgetting or losing one of the towels, underwear or a pair of swimmers for one or more of the kids, there is so much to think of when you head out for a day in the sun!

Slip, Slop, Slap, we all know the drill, but what about Seek and Slide? Seeking shade and sliding on a pair of decent sunnies is just as important, luckily Petit Australia has got the ‘Slide’ part covered with their gorgeous range of Roshambo Baby sunglasses (0-18 months+). Made in Italy from high quality, durable and flexible materials these cool baby shades are not only super hip but built specifically for active little munchkins.

Roshambo KellySafety is top priority for Roshambo Baby which is why their lenses offer 100% UVA and UVB protection to keep those precious little eyes safe from the sun. Aside from keeping the sun at bay Roshambo Baby sunglasses also stay clear of nasty chemicals (they’re BPA free) and small parts so even munching, twisting, bending or pushing the ultra flexible frame will not put your mini adventurer at risk.

Roshambo tealRoshambo Baby has so much confidence in the durability of their product that their sunnies come with a full damage replacement guarantee if your frames break or get damaged in the first year of their use. Even if you clever little monkey manages to twist and turn the frame so strongly that one of the lenses pops out you don’t have to worry about it shattering, just pop the lens back in or in the event a lens gets lost it will be replaced for free.

Roshambo Baby CaseRoshambo BabyShades ($32.50) are available in twelve great colours to suit boys and girls and come in a handy little carry case to keep them clean and well protected. You may feel ‘real’ summer is still a little while away but it won’t be long until you hear the first ‘slip, slop, slap’ ads on TV. Even if it doesn’t seem very sunny yet you always have to be aware of harmful UV rays and protect your little one’s eyes when out exploring the beautiful Australian outdoors. If you are struggling to find sunglasses that stay put during all that running and jumping I’ve got good news for you, check out the awesome new Kiddie Concepts Kids Sunglasses:

Kiddie Concepts Kids Sunglasses $22.95

Just like the rest of the Kiddie Concepts range these cool sunnies have been designed by a clever Aussie mum who knows what works and what is really important. The first thing to look for in good sunglasses is the level of UV protection, anything less than 100% is not good enough and if no details are mentioned please assume they are unsafe! Luckily Kiddie Concepts offers great peace of mind as all new Kiddie Concepts sunglasses provide full 100% UV protection, including UVA, UVB and UVC.

Also, because these sunglasses are created especially for children they have to be absolutely safe. Another tick for the new Kiddie Concepts arrivals as they have passed Australian Standards Category 3, AS/NZS 1067:2003 with flying colours, they are free from BPA-free (yes they know children like to ‘taste’ the legs) and the lenses are shatter resistant. The flexible, shock-absorbing frames are built for busy kids with an active lifestyle. If you have experienced the nuisance of sunglasses with straight legs that just slide of the ears you will love the innovative ‘wrap around’ legs that follow the natural curve of a childs head, keeping them nicely in place.

Kiddie Concepts Kids Sunglasses are available in sizes 6-36 months and 3 years+ and you can choose from a range of different colours to suit both boys and girls. Also available is a handy Sunglasses Strap ($4.50, sold separately) which you can attach to your child’s new sunglasses so the chances of them slipping off or getting lost are even further reduced. With a friendly $22.95 pricetag these hip sunnies are very affordable and definitely a must-have for the upcoming summer seaon.

Yes, they stay on even when you jump!

Yes, they stay on even when you jump!

As a mum of four little ones we have gone through quite a few pairs of sunglasses already. Some of them got lost but most of them died a tragic death by breaking, twisting, bending, being crushed, jumped or sat on. So far these cute pink Kiddie Concepts Sunglasses are proven a real hit, as you can see miss just-turned-3 even tested if they would stay put when you jump and they do! Our youngest daughter has just turned 6 months old and the ‘baby size’ is a fabulous fit for her, she did not pull them off which means they are comfortable and the lenses sit extremely well around her eyes leaving very little gaps for sun to sneak in. I am absolutely thrilled by the great fit as that is something that’s hard to get right for wiggly babies.

Dec 222011

As a mum of two girls and one boy I always seem to find plenty of cute girls stuff to buy. I know many mums who think it is harder to find cool things for boys and to be honest I always thought that wasn’t true, it was more a case of knowing where to look. The only time I ever had trouble finding a certain perfect something for my little man was when I needed sunglasses, until I discovered Babiators that is.

Of course I know that you can buy (ugly) sunglasses in any cheap shop, at most chemists and online but none of them pass the hipness test. Aside from whether those sunnies can be classed as stylish or not, it is even more important to me that they are safe and offer his beautiful, precious brown eyes the protection they need and deserve. When you look closer at many of the options available you’ll realise that many of them are not as safe as you think!

Because I couldn’t find any suitable boys sunglasses my son has been sporting a purple (isn’t that just a different shade of blue?) pair from his sister, something daddy wasn’t very pleased with. Luckily this week the awesome Babiators have arrived on Australian shores and I knew I had to get the little mister a pair. They are super hip, safe and sturdy, all my wishes granted in an instant! I chose these super cool Rockstar Red Babiators, aren’t they fabulous?

The little facts: Babiators are aviator style kids sunglasses available in a Junior (0-3 years) and Classic (3 years+) design. Babiators offer 100% protection from UVA and UVB rays and they are BPA free too (we all know babies put everything in their mouths). A real big bonus: the flexible rubber frame is soft, twistable, bendable and throwable without breaking, making it a perfect choice for active Aussie kids.
