With a baby brother who is rapidly growing out of his bassinet we were getting quite desperate for miss Hattie to complete her cot-to-bed transition. I admit it has been a slow process with quite a few hiccups along the way but eventually we got there! She has now totally settled into the new sleeping quarters and is enjoying the freedom it comes with, hopping in and out of bed multiple times a night. Of course this means sleeping bags are no longer an option, but thankfully ergoPouch has come up with a solution:

Is it a sleeping bag? Is it a sleep suit? Well, it’s both! The convertible ergoPouch Sleep Suit Bag (RRP $74.95, 2 months – 6 years) combines everything you love about a cosy sleeping bag with the benefits of a more grown-up suit with legs. All it takes is two zips and you can change between suit or bag as often you please and as your child’s needs or sleeping arrangements change, now that’s great value for money.

Perfect for that tricky in between weather the short-sleeve ergoPouch Spring/Autumn Sleep Suit Bag (1.0 TOG) will keep baby comfortable and at the right temperature without being bulky and restrictive. Made with the sensitive skin of little ones in mind the soft organic cotton and bamboo blend is gentle and allergy friendly, reducing the risk of skin irritation, eczema flare-ups and long nights of itching and scratching.

The award-winning Sleep Suit Bag offers plenty of wiggle room and a teeny touch of stretchy elastane allows your child to move hips and legs around freely. Whether your child sleeps in cot, car or carrier, rides in a stroller or even likes to stroll on his/her own wobbly little legs, the innovative 2-in-1 design can be used anywhere without compromising on safety (the suit mode allows for seatbelt and harnesses). Fitted with special no-slip grip pads the suit will help new walkers stay on their feet.

I really love the handy room thermometer that comes with the Sleep Suit Bag, completely free. Not only does it show you the temperature in your baby’s room, the dressing guide also tells you which TOG rating to wear at different room temperatures and what type of clothing to put underneath your sleeping bag or suit. It’s just the helpful guide a caring parent needs to reassure them they are doing the right thing for their precious little one.

In line with the SIDS guidelines ergoPouch Sleep Suit Bags provide the warmth and comfort babies require for a restful sleep without the need for (potentially dangerous) loose bedding. Not sure which product/TOG rating to choose? Use the quick ergoPouch Finder to find the best match for your child and his/her sleeping environment, easy as pie.

Sleep, what can I say… As a mum of five I get very little of it, in fact I can’t even remember the last time I slept a whole night without being woken by one or more of my beautiful children. Many people think it’s newborn babies who cause all these broken nights, but not in our house. We have swaddled all our little ones from birth and found it worked a treat, the night time trouble only started once they grew out of the wrap…

Going from the snug, safe haven of a swaddle to the big, wide world of flapping arms and kicking legs is a tricky and tiring transition for precious bundles and their parents. Thankfully Baby Loves Sleep owner and Aussie mama Lourdes, also known by her nickname Malou, is coming to the rescue of tired families across the country with this clever invention:

sleepy-hugs-greyThe unique, patent pending Sleepy Hugs sleep suit is designed to help you to gently and safely move away from the tight swaddle whilst maintaining that comforting, cosy feeling that so many babies need to get into a restful, deep sleep. The enclosed wing-like sleeves mimic the ‘restricted’ feel of a traditional swaddle without limiting arm movement and the spacious, wide sack allows for plenty of hip movement (and even a hip dysplasia harness).

Made from 100% soft, breathable cotton fabric Sleepy Hugs are perfect for the sensitive skin of newborns and those suffering from eczema and other skin conditions. Even better, thanks to the closed-in design small hands are kept safely away from the face to avoid scratching. To make midnight nappy changes as quick and easy as possible you can zip the suit open from the bottom, so convenient! Here’s to long nights and lazy naps for everyone…

The Sleepy Hugs sleep suit (RRP $59.95, ages 3 months – 12 months+) is currently available in four stylish designs to suit both boys and girls. Whether you live in a cold or hot climate, with both an Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer weight to choose from you can rest assured your Sleepy Hugs suit will keep your baby comfortable all night long.

It’s been a rather slow start this year but it looks like warmer weather has finally arrived, yay! I have got my fingers crossed that summer won’t let it us down and we’re in for some beautiful weather. I love the longer days, the blue skies, cold ice blocks and having less washing (that’s why I love dresses!).

The only tricky thing about the Summer season is knowing what to put on little Harriet at night time, making sure she is comfortable, safe and at the perfect temperature. Thankfully ergoPouch takes the guessing out of baby bedtime with these gorgeous new arrivals.

ergopouch-summer-sleep-bagDesigned with Australia’s hot weather in mind the light and airy ergoPouch 0.2 TOG Jersey Sleep Bag (RRP $34.95, size 8-24 months) is the perfect summer pick for your precious bundle. This stylish sleep bag is made with luxurious organic cotton that is super soft, breathable and gentle against baby’s delicate skin, it’s ideal for little ones suffering from eczema or other skin conditions.

After ten months of cocooning baby Harriet to sleep and a tricky transition period she has now well and truly accepted the arms-free lifestyle, so it’s out with the swaddle and in with the sleeping bag. The Jersey Sleep Bag is comfy and cosy yet spacious enough for little hips to move around freely, earning the important tick of approval from the International Hip Dysplasia Foundation.

Committed to ultimate comfort and safety this lovely ergoPouch design has no scratchy, noisy velcro to irritate Harriet’s skin and no small buttons that could come off, it opens and closes in one quick zip with the end of the zip being neatly covered by a small fabric flap so the neckline is soft and smooth. Bonus: The two-way zip allows for easy nappy access without having to take off the whole sleep bag making midnight changes a breeze.

Last week we spent four days in a holiday house near the beach and we had a fantastic time, the kids were so sad to leave as they loved going to the beach. Luckily we had beautiful weather and although it was too cold to swim they had a ball looking for shells and building sand castles with their Opa and Oma (grandparents) who came all the way from Holland. It was the first taste of sand and water for the baby and she absolutely loved it, by the time it is summer I doubt she will get out of the water unless I drag her out! To make sure she doesn’t get cold I might need a Konfidence Babywarma.

The Babywarma ($31.95) is designed to keep your baby warm (I am sure that doesn’t surprise you). It is like a mini wetsuit for little people, made of soft neoprene fabric that feels comfortable and snug whilst keeping out the chills. Babywarma’s are available in three sizes (2-7kg, 7-12kg and 12-16kg+) to guarantee a proper fit for your baby. The two smaller sizes are a handy wraparound style to make (un)dressing and nappy changes a breeze, even the shoulder straps are adjustable!

For older kids up to 7 years old there is the Kids Warma ($34.95) with choice of three sizes and five different colours to suit boys and girls. Both the Babywarma and Kids Warma can be worn in combination with a long sleeve UV rashie for extra protection when worn outside. Children often have so much fun they stay in the water even if they are getting cold and their lips turn blue, the Konfidence kids wet suits will help them to stay warm.

If you are a bit nervous about small kids and water (I know I am!) you will appreciate these cute blue and pink stripe float suits ($39.95). The 8 removable floats will help to keep your child safe and provide him/her with added confidence as they learn to swim, they also provide parents with peace of mind. As the confidence grows the floats can be removed to suit your indepent little swimmer.
