With only a few weeks left until baby no.6 joins the family I feel like I am constantly in and out of hospital for check-ups, going for ultrasounds and last minute shopping. It’s rather exhausting for me but quite tiring too for miss Hattie who has to tag along everywhere I go. I am trying to make the trips as easy as possible with yummy lunnchboxes full of tasty snacks and some gorgeous books to read while waiting (there is a lot of waiting!). These lovely board books by the talented Louise Forshaw are absolutely perfect for your baby bag or your toddler’s backpack and I can’t wait to add a few more to our collection:

In Busy Vet (RRP $6.99) we take a look around the veterinary clinic, where we meet all kinds of animals. From cats to dogs and from turtles to lizards, there are so many different patients. Little readers will love exploring Busy Vet by pushing, pulling and sliding the tabs while listening to simple rhyming sentences. Made from sturdy cardboard these books are totally toddler-proof and very durable.

I wonder what treats they are serving up in the Busy Café (RRP $6.99) today? On display are scrumptious muffins, cakes, rolls, fruit and much more. Using the tabs kids can pay at the counter and ‘print’ a receipt, whip up a smoothie and a coffee for mum, this book is so much fun to look at. Priced at just $6.99 each, Busy Books are amazing value for money, now that’s a great gift idea that won’t break the bank!

Pan Macmillan Australia

Last month I introduced you to The World of Dinosaur Roar!, a collection of sturdy board books that welcomes young readers to the big and boisterous world of dinosaurs. We’ve already met the noisy Tyrannosaurus Rex and the sneaky Deinonychus and today we’re in for another awesome dino meet-up:

From early morning to late at night, with his enormous appetite the Diplodocus spends his day eating everything in sight. No matter how much he bites and crunches, nibbles and munches, he is always looking for the next snack. Until his never-ending hunger sees him take a bite of something a bit too close to home in Dinosaur Munch! The Diplodocus (RRP $14.99).

Did you know all The World of Dinosaur Roar books are approved by the Department of Earth Sciences at the Natural History Museum in London? This mean they are not only fun to read but educational too, treating your little bookworm to a host of interesting facts about each of these amazing dinosaurs. You’ll even learn how to pronounce their scientific names properly, so you’ll be an expert in no time!

Kaszubebe

At the start of the year I introduced you to Polish brand Kaszubebe and its beautifully designed children’s toys and games. Well they have done it again, unique, durable, simple and very appealing to little eyes, these new Kaszubebe puzzles from Coccinella are perfect for chubby toddler hands:

Kaszubebe Animal Puzzles ($26.95 each)

Kaszubebe Animal Puzzles ($26.95 each)

Puzzles are great fun for kids but you have to make sure the design is appropriate. The right puzzle needs to be attractive, interesting and challenging to keep little minds working but it should not be too tricky, you don’t want children to feel like a failure if they can’t solve it. For the youngest ones it is best to start simple like with these friendly Kaszubebe animal puzzles.

Kaszubebe Owl PuzzleThe Owl Puzzle and Frog Puzzle ($26.95) have a fun round frame and chunky wooden pieces in odd shapes, yet there are only seven components so children will feel confident they can do it. Being made from solid wood the Kaszubebe puzzles are eco friendly and very sturdy so they will stand the rough and tumble young children are famous for. Each puzzle comes in a cute little storage box so you can keep all the pieces together when not in use.
