Globber

I’m sure you’ve worked out by now that for our family August a pretty big month. Not only do we celebrate four birthdays (with Hattie quickly following in September) and have a big holiday ahead of us but it is also the month I started Hip Little One so that’s another ‘birthday’ coming up. After a long countdown Juliet is finally six and working hard on mastering her new 2-wheel Globber scooter:

Globber 1

Designed for ages 6+ the Globber MyTOO Fix Up (RRP $140) is the perfect challenge for this little lady at six going on sixteen. I love seeing the concentration on her face when she is trying something new, determined to work things out and reach her goal.

MyTOO Fix Up greenThe cool look of the MyTOO Fix Up is not just fashionable but functional too, the ergonomic design with its funky curves and the high density non-slip EVA foam deck offer a luxurious and safe riding experience for growing feet that can still be a bit wobbly from time to time. This makes the MyTOO Fix Up my personal favourite in the Globber range, it looks and feels absolutely fabulous.

Thoroughly safety tested and made from high quality materials that are strong and sturdy the MyTOO Fix Up gets the thumbs up from both parents and children, parents love the durability and amazing value for many money while young riders enjoy the super smooth ride and sense of security they get from the solid construction. Even though Juliet has only just upgraded from three to two wheels I can see she feels confident on the deck.

Globber 2

Because little girls grow faster than you can keep up with this clever Globber scooter has a height adjustable handlebar. MyTOO Fix Up riders should have a minimum height of 1.10m and as your child grows the handlebar can be adjusted with three height levels to choose from. The brightly coloured handlebar grips are made from durable, dual-injection material, this makes them secure (no slipping) and comfortable for small hands to hold.

Globber 3

The MyTOO Fix Up has a maximum weight limit of 100kg so even hip mamas can have a sneaky try when the kids are having a break. This generous flexibility in the height and weight department makes this trendy scooter an excellent pick for families who want to invest in a product that their kids won’t grow out of after just one season.

Bobux

With the spotlight on ‘Back to School’ it’s all about our oldest three kids at the moment. Trying on uniforms, picking new backpacks, testing out lunch boxes and drink bottles… it may seem like miss Sybbie is missing out on all the fun but with her 3rd birthday just two weeks away she is getting ready for her own dose of excitement.

Bobux Sybil

It feels like yesterday that we battled to get some food into our tiny baby who was struggling to grow, now she measures almost 1 metre tall! She is such a cheeky, active girl and sitting still is definitely not her thing. She is always on the move, climbing, running, chasing, jumping, skipping, hopping as fast as she can and ideally as loud as she can too.

Bobux climbing

Her long, skinny body is not always as coordinated as she would like it to be so not a day goes past without a little slip, slide or fall, it’s good I keep a big supply of band-aids on hand! A good supportive pair of shoes is an absolute must for her growing feet and preferably a design that looks lovely, is non-slip and able to withstand the rough and tumble of active kids as well… I know, we have quite a wish list.

Bobux wood

At Bobux they understand that when it comes to children’s shoes parents don’t just want ‘cute’, ‘pretty’ or ‘cool’, they want quality, support, durability and comfort to encourage healthy, strong feet. Those little feet have to last a lifetime so, even though they will be hiding in socks or shoes most of the time, they are not something to mess around with. Children’s feet are serious business!

Wildflower Mary JaneLuckily the foot experts at Bobux know that the eye wants something too so they have combined al those must-have features with awesome looks that kids (and their parents) love, no wonder Bobux footwear is a hit around the globe. After careful consideration we decided the beautiful Wildflower Mary Jane (RRP $80, size 20-29) ticks all the boxes for us and miss Sybbie is super chuffed with her ‘red flower shoes’, happy faces all around.

Bobux solesThese versatile Wildflower Mary Janes are sweet and strong, flexible and feminine, comfortable and cute, safe and supportive, leather and long-lasting… they simply have everything we look for in the perfect girls’ shoe. Sybbie can be quite fussy with clothing and shoes and if they are ‘not right’ she will let us know immediately and refuse to wear them. For her to be happy with these gorgeous shoes says a lot.

The vibrant red colour is bright and cheerful and the leather is soft and beautiful quality. They really go with everything in her wardrobe and look lovely with bare feet in Summer but awesome with tights in Winter too. Also important: Sybbie loves being able to put them on and take them off herself thanks to the Velcro strap, our little miss independent is growing up…

VIVOBAREFOOT, healthy shoes for active kids

Vivobarefoot

When it comes to babies and infants most parents are well aware and agree that going barefoot is the healthiest choice for little feet. We let our small children crawl and toddle around without shoes whenever possible or opt for soft soled shoes that allow their growing feet to develop naturally. The big question is, when does ‘barefoot is best’ end?

VIVOBAREFOOT Kids

At VIVOBAREFOOT they believe that ‘barefoot is best’ is a lifestyle, and by walking barefoot from early on people can grow strong and naturally healthy feet. They first created the original barefoot shoe in 2003 and today they offer the largest range of barefoot shoes on the market. You may have seen the ‘grown-up’ VIVOBAREFOOT shoes around but have you spotted the VIVOBAREFOOT kids range too?

Neo Velcro WhiteBecause a child’s foot is not fully formed until late teenage years and consists of bones that are soft and malleable, any artificial alternations in the shape of ‘pre-formed’ shoes (e.g. stiff materials and hard soles, padded pitch and arch support) will interfere with natural foot development. Allow your child’s feet to get naturally strong and go barefoot with one of VIVOBAREFOOT’s trendy kids shoes.

Neo Velcro PinkWhether you need a traditional black school shoe, a white runner for PE, a stylish boot, a comfy water shoe or a colourful sneaker for sport and play the VIVOBAREFOOT range has got all kids feet covered from a tiny size 18 up to a generous size 36. Our very active miss 4 is always running, jumping, climbing, crawling, hopping or skipping so these bright pink Neo Kids shoes (RRP $89.95) are perfect for her and the velcro closure makes them super easy and quick to put on (ideal for kindy days!).

At first the VIVOBAREFOOT design takes a bit of getting used to, but when you see how easy her feet slide into the shoe, how lightweight and breathable the shoe is and how it wraps around the natural shape of the foot the barefoot principle is very obvious. According to miss 4 her Neo Velcro Kids shoes are very comfy and she can run really fast in them so she’s a happy little camper.
