What can I say, you don’t know the true luxury of a relaxing warm shower until you find yourself without hot water. Recently our hot water system broke down unexpectedly which left our family of seven out in the cold, literally. But tough as they are even a chilly shower doesn’t stop my tribe from getting clean and scrubbing up while putting the newest ecostore products to the test:

Designed with the young, sensitive skin of children in mind the brand new ecostore Kids range is guaranteed to get your precious little ones squeaky clean and smelling delicious without exposing them to hidden nasties. The ecostore Kids range is safer for you and safer for the world we live in, so it’s a double win! Did you know ecostore uses unique biodegradable renewable sugarcane plastic packaging? It’s just another way they show they care.

From the top of their head to the tips of their wiggly toes, ecostore Kids Foam to the Max (RRP $9.99, 350ml) is sure to get the thumbs up from everyone. As a mum I love the practical 3-in-1 concept (shampoo, conditioner and body wash), the handy pump flacon (one pump is plenty and no waste) and of course the safe plant and mineral based formula that cleanses gently yet thoroughly. At the same time kids love the generous foam for extra bath time fun and the pleasant Pear Pop or Fruity Zing fragrance.

No matter how old you are, we all love the luxurious feeling of sinking into a big sea of bubbles. A little squeeze of ecostore Kids Double Trouble Bubble Maker (RRP $9.99, 400ml) in your bath water is enough to create a fun foam frenzy that will win over even the biggest bath hater. Just keep the bottle away from little hands because they’ll keep wanting to go back for more! Bonus: The Pear Pop scent is absolutely scrumptious.

Now I haven’t tried out this special kids hand soap myself just yet, but the word on the street is that ecostore has successfully made hand washing cool again with the new ecostore Kids Foam it Up (RRP $9.99, 350ml). One bottle of this super soap lasts an enormous 500 pumps, that’s a lot of toilet trips and excellent value for money. The gentle natural formula is safe for little ones aged 2+, putting an end to sticky fingers and greasy hands without using nasty chemicals.

These five fabulous ecostore Kids products are now available at Chemist Warehouse stores across Australia as well as the Chemist Warehouse online store.

Big Birthday Bash – Day 14

When Aromababy founder and mum-of-two Catherine Cervasio struggled to find natural organic products for her own baby many years ago she decided to take matters into her own hands and create a natural and organic skincare range for pregnancy, baby and the entire family. Aromababy was born and quickly claimed its place as one of the most loved organic skincare brands across the globe, from hospitals in Australia and New Zealand to national and international celebrities everyone simply loves Aromababy.

Aromababy was the first baby care label to use neonatal research as a guide AND be formulated without petro-chemicals, parabens, propylene glycol, sulphates and countless other ingredients thought to be linked to skin irritations. We all want only the best for our children and Aromababy offers just that, peace of mind for caring parents and no nasties. Hair cleanse, body lotion, massage oil, bath gel, baby powder, nappy change cream and more, Aromababy has you covered from top to toe.

Aromababy Barrier Balm, the hero product of the range, is an absolute must-have for Australian families. While originally formulated to soothe nappy rash it soon became a go-to product for eczema, cradle cap, windburn, chafing and a range of other skin related problems, what a fantastic multi-use product! Tip: Keep a nice big jar of Aromababy Barrier Balm at home and carry the mini version (10g) in your handbag or baby bag, for quick relief on the go.

With Mother’s Day just a few days away men all around the world are racing into stores to pick up some last minute gifts for their beloved partners, wives and mothers. Of course they only want the best for their favourite mum but while that beautifully wrapped skincare pack from your local chemist may look lovely it is probably hiding a long list of nasty ingredients that you don’t want near your mum at all!

Aden + Anais Ultra Gentle LotionAt Aden + Anais they have got precious bundles and their mamas covered with a wonderful range of naturally-derived skincare products that are ‘gentle enough for baby, yet sophisticated enough for you’. We all look after our most precious little bundles with utmost care and it is time we do the same for ourselves and other mums, we deserve it. The Aden + Anais skincare range consists of 5 great products to keep you clean, soft, smooth and fragrant from top to toe.

Aden + Anais Bubble BathI don’t know about you but at our house bath time is 90% fun and 10% cleaning, the kids spend ages laughing, playing and splashing and they’re sad when they have to come out. A few small capfuls of tear-free Aden + Anais Bubble Bath ($24.95) will turn an ordinary bath into a sea of bubbles and leave a wonderful scent of Australian sandalwood. The addition of pawpaw fruit has a moisturising effect perfect for sensitive newborn and mama skin.

Aden + Anais Hair + Body WashThe same fabulous natural ingredients can be found in the Aden + Anais Hair + Body Wash ($24.95), a fantastic all-in-one product for the whole family that makes the daily clean very easy and smells great. Like the rest of the Aden + Anais skincare range it is free from phytoestrogen, parabens, petroleum oils, phthalates, gluten and soy so you can enjoy it with confidence. If you have a wriggly baby like I do you’ll love the pump flacon, you only need one hand to apply a small amount to your baby’s head.

Aden + Anais Stretch Mark Reducing CreamSome expecting mothers get lots, some just a few and some (lucky) others get none, they come in many shapes and colours and none of us like them, I am of course talking about stretch marks. Whether you are a mama-to-be or a new mum the Aden + Anais Stretch Mark Reducing Cream ($39.95) is specifically created for you to help reduce the appearance of, and even prevent, the stretch marks that many of us fear and suffer from as a result of pregnancy. Apply religiously twice daily during and after pregnancy and watch the shea butter and natural-grade darutoside work their magic, you could see results in as a little as two weeks!

Aden + Anais Soothing OintmentThe last, and my absolute favourite, product in the range is the Aden + Anais Soothing Ointment ($39.95). I first discovered this ‘magical’ ointment last year and since then it has become the go-to solution for many little and big skin ‘problems’ in our home. We use it on chapped lips and red noses that have become sore from lots of blowing, it soothes little scrapes and shaving cuts, moistens dry patches, relieves nappy rash and much more. This nice big jar will go a long way, a real mama must-have!

Regular Hip little one readers will know that our household has been battling eczema and other skin conditions, our youngest child in particular is always scratching which is heartbreaking to see. Over time we have worked out a few of the triggers, some of them we can avoid but others you simply can’t. Like many other parents we have learnt the hard way that harsh skincare products are disastrous for baby’s skin so we only welcome natural products in our home.

Australian company Brauer Naturals has heard the call from worried parents and developed a range of natural baby skincare products that is eczema friendly and gentle on sensitive skin. Created with natural ingredient like paw paw, chamomile and honey these products will leave your baby feeling soft and smelling delicious, without the worry of nasty chemicals and artificial fragrances.

The Brauer Naturals Baby range consists of 6 great products that cover your little ones from top to bottom and from morning to night. For in the bathroom there are Baby Bath + Body Wash, Baby Shampoo and Baby Sleepytime Bath, Baby Nappy Balm and Baby Soft Skin Lotion are must-haves for on the changetable and last but not least there is the Baby Massage Oil for those special one-on-one moments.

As a mum of two little girls and a boy I am very aware of the difference between washing long hair or short hair, a head full of tangled hair can really ruin a fun bath or shower run. The Baby Shampoo leaves my girls’ hair easy to manage afterwards so we can enjoy the happy faces a little longer. And between you and me, I always take just a bit too much of the Baby Soft Skin Lotion so I can use the ‘excess’ myself after moisturising the kids.

For some extra smiles and giggles each Brauer Naturals Baby product comes with a free bath duck, there is a whole duck family to collect. Now the great thing about Brauer Naturals Baby is that, on top of a happy baby and happy mum, it leaves your wallet healthy too as the products have a very gentle $11.49 price tag.

If you are lucky your husband has surprised you this morning with a sweet gift for Valentine’s day, or maybe you have a special night out planned to spend some quality time together. If you are not that lucky you should know that there are many other mums out there who go without a gift today. Especially for those mums the lovely people at Sebastian Professional have donated two fabulous prize packs to make up for a disappointing day.

The Sebastian Professional High Impact Volume Meets Softness pack is perfect for busy mums who deserve a bit of pampering, don’t we all? Each pack contains the volume boosting Volupt Shampoo, Volupt Conditioner and Volupt Spray and together these three products work to revive flat, lifeless hair with renewed body and volume. Aside from making sure your hair fits in with the big volume trend of this season it will also look and feel nourished and incredibly soft.

What makes the Sebastian Professional Volupt line stand out from other volumising products is the ability to combine both amazing volume AND beautiful softness, two things that don’t often go hand in hand (we all know the hard, breakable feel that usually comes with big voluminous hair). The unique micro-particle technology provides an extreme volume boost without any roughness, meaning you can add inches without compromising on softness.

To find out more about Sebastian Professional, to browse the range and to locate a salon near you visit www.sebastianprofessional.com or call 1300 728 333.

For your chance to win one of two Sebastian Professional High Impact Volume Meets Softness prize packs (RRP $70) visit www.sebastianprofessional.com and answer the following question: Aside from the Volupt products which other Sebastian Professional products would you like to try?

Submit your answer by leaving a comment below, your email address will not be published.
