66 North

Cold weather has well and truly arrived here in South Australia and we’ve already had the wood heater on many nights, who would have thought Australia could get this cold in Autumn? When it comes to keeping little people warm on chilly days who better to learn from than the experts in beautiful (but very cold!) Iceland, visit The Little Haven for these toasty winter styles by 66 North:

66 North Green

The gorgeous 66 North Frigg and Loki jackets ($49.95) are made with innovative Polartec® Power Stretch®, a light-weight, body-hugging, highly breathable and wind resistant material that stays dry next to the skin so active children stay dry all day long. The weather in Australian can be a little funny this time of year and even in winter kids can get a bit sweaty when they’re busy exploring so comfortable, breathable clothing is a must.

66 NorthIf your kids are anything like mine they go from hot one moment to cold the next which is why both styles feature an easy zip closure so kids can put them on and take them off in a flash. The classic red and black colours are great for boys and girls of all ages and won’t go out of fashion making them perfect for hand me downs. You can choose from size 92 (2 years), size 104 (4 years) and size 116 (6 years).

Freya Rain JacketBrand new in store are the famous 66 North Freyja Rain Jackets ($49.95, blue/green and red/orange), created with heavy Icelandic rain in mind (and boy do they get lots of it!) these eye-catching rain coats will have no trouble keeping little Aussies dry during a good downpour. Freyja jackets are 100% waterproof with a detachable hood and elasticised cuffs to prevent rain entering the sleeves. Bonus: Your precious explorer will be easily visible when out and about thanks to reflective strips.

Kria JacketDon’t worry, 66 North has mini Aussies covered too with the very snuggly Kria Jacket ($44.95). This style is available in 4 different colours and starts at a tiny size 62 (0-6 months) up to size 86 (12-18 months). The front zip makes dressing your baby easy while the award winning APEX fleece will keep cold chills at bay and is soft and gentle against your child’s skin. You can even buy a sweet pair of mittens to match, so cute!

IVI Play RugGiveaway time: Would you like to win a FREE 3D IVI Activity Play Rug (RRP $149.95)? Every order at The Little Haven placed between May 1 and June 30 will automatically be entered in the draw, now that would be an amazing prize to win! Hatley Plaid Horses Rain BootsFor more than twenty years Hatley has been producing children’s rainwear that keeps little ones dry and warm in the rain without giving in on style. With cold and rainy weather just around the corner it’s time to get Autumn ready with some beautiful Hatley rainwear. As we often walk to school a good rain coat is a must-have for my kids and we have already had our first downpour to put our new Hatley gear to the test.

After years of research Hatley has created the ultimate kids raincoat: a soft, waterproof and PVC free outer shell combined with super cozy terry lining that keeps kids comfortable without getting sweaty and sticky. Finished with practical press studs for easy dressing and two handy pockets to store small treasures in (or to warm up cold hands) Hatley raincoats are ideal for kids who love exploring the outdoors.

As I said a few days ago we have been spending a lot of time in the garden. Where my son mainly cares about the dirt and making a mess my oldest daughter is more interested in the pretty things: a sweet flower, some colourful leaves and of course her oh so hip boots. Because even when you are getting dirty you can still do it in style if you wear the Rosie Roo Designer Wellies.

Rosie Roo Designer Wellies are designed in Australia and they are not only stylish and hip but also practical, functional and of high quality. Kids can be quite rough when playing outside so good gum boots need to be durable and sturdy and of course waterproof to be able to withstand a good splash in a muddy puddle. Rosie Roo Designer Wellies are hand manufactured with a 100% natural rubber upper and sole which are bonded so they are completely waterproof.

The outer is decorated with bright colours and prints that kids will love and you don’t even have to help them put the boots on, they can easily do it themselves thanks to the handy cut out handle! On the inside the Rosie Roo wellingtons feature cotton lining and foam inner soles to make them extra comfortable. There are currently four different Rosie Roo Designer Wellies for kids available including designs for both boys and girls.

My daughter loves her purple Rosie Roo Cupcake Wellies and would wear them wherever she goes (if I let her), I even spotted her baby sister trying to put them on! Unfortunately they don’t make these hip booties in her size so she will have to wait a little longer, the children’s range is available in sizes 6-14. After that girls can move on to the extensive Rosie Roo range for ladies but more about that next time…

To find out more about Rosie Roo Designer Wellies, to browse the range and to locate an online retailer or stockist near you visit www.rosieroo.com.au.
