As a mum of three August babies I know all about freezing midnight feeds, tiny sneezes and sniffles and walking your pram in the rain. On the upside I also know all about snuggly warm baby blankets, gorgeous all-in-one suits with little feet, knitted booties and adorable beanies, I absolutely love winter babies. If you do too you are sure to appreciate the wonderful new Purebaby collection that just arrived at Sustainababy:

Purebaby Boys

Designed right here in Australia and made with soft organic cotton (and sometimes even a touch of luxurious cashmere) the new Purebaby Autumn/Winter range will no doubt be well received by modern expecting and new mamas. We all want only the best for our little ones and this latest collection is just that, it combines beautiful classic designs with high quality, soft and safe materials and the result is simply divine.

Purebaby Girls

For little ladies this sweet Purebaby Knitted Eyelet Dress ($64.95, size 000-0) is definitely a winter must-have. Put the dress together with the matching powder pink Knitted Beanie ($29.95, size small-medium) and Booties ($29.95, size small-medium) for a look that’s pretty as a picture, I think it would make an awesome baby shower package for a new pink bundle.

PB4The great thing about Purebaby baby wear is that its simple, classy look never goes out of fashion so you can easily pass it on to your next baby (or babies) afterwards. Some of my Purebaby clothes have been worn by all three of my girls, now that’s good value for money! I sneakily wish I had a baby to shop for because I am madly in love with this Multi Stripe Knitted Grow Suit ($64.95, size 000-0), totally gorgeous.

Purekids – Winter 2013

At the start of every season I sort through the kids wardrobes to see which clothes don’t fit them anymore and which clothes just didn’t survive the every day wash and wear. Over time I have learnt my lesson and now only go for quality brands that are made to last and can be handed down when the times comes. One of those great labels is Purebaby (for the little ones) and Purekids (for the older kids) which you can find in store at Sustainababy.

untitled2I love Purebaby for multiple reasons starting with their soft organic cotton fabrics, this means no itchy skin for my kids and no hidden nasties to be breathed in. The Purebaby garments are soft from day one and will stay that way even after many washes whilst keeping their good looks too, durability is a must in this household. Another great benefit of Purebaby is that the styles are classic and timeless so they don’t go out of fashion.

3The latest Purekids Winter range offers some beautiful designs and I am particularly taken by the boys styles this year. A stylish checkered shirt like the Hunter Check Shirt ($54.95, size 3-5) is a must-have for any boys wardrobe. You can keep it casual by teaming it up with some cool jeans or dress it up with a pair of neat trousers, either way you’ll never be caught out for a gorgeous outfit. It would look awesome with the Purekids Stovepipe Jean ($69.95, size 3-5).

untitledLast year we bought our son his first Purekids tracksuit and even though he has worn it a lot it still looks fantastic. Sadly he has grown out of it so I am about to order him this season’s Boys Tracksuit Set ($64.96, size 3-5) to replace it. With many chilly months ahead of us this will definitely keep him warm and I love the grey and blue colour combination. Such a great price for a two-piece (organic) outfit!

A few weeks ago I wrote about Purebaby and showed you some of the gorgeous new Summer designs, but of course the fun doesn’t stop at size 2. Your stylish little one can continue to enjoy the Purebaby quality and softness all the way up to 5 years old thanks to Purekids. You can find some very hip Purekids pieces now in stock at Sustainababy.

For the girls this season brings a very sweet Peony colour, such a welcome change from the standard sugar pink tones you see everywhere else. Especially in summer when the weather can be humid and clothing is worn close to the skin the beautiful 100% organic cotton cotton fabrics are a brilliant choice. The Purekids Finch Ruffle Singlet ($34.95) would look gorgeous with some little shorts, leggings or of course this Purekids Tea Rose Floral Skirt ($49.95). This drawstring skirt is well worth a closer look, it feature a delightful all-over floral print that little girls (and mums) will love. Matching Tea Rose Hat ($19.95) is available in store with a handy tie cord to keep it in the right spot.

You can never go wrong with a pair of sturdy cargo shorts for the boys and Purekids has two different styles to choose from this summer. I like these Cinnamon coloured River Shorts ($54.95) as the darker fabric will hide the inevitable dirty marks my boy will make on them very well while the pocket will hold rocks and other treasures. Team them up with the Boys Snapper Tee ($34.95) and the Fisherman Check Shirt ($49.95) and you’ve got one smart boys outfit. The individual pieces can easily be worn with other items from your son’s wardrobe too so you’ll get lots of wear out of them.

While you are at Sustainababy make sure to check out the updated Specials section as right now there are some amazing bargains to be scooped up, prices start at just $5 and nothing over $50. What a great opportunity to grab some lovely eco-friendly gifts to surprise family and friends with this Christmas! Save up to 85% on fantastic brands like Purebaby, Baobab, Cheeky Little Soles, Bluebelle and many more. Hurry, at prices like this you’ll have to be quick!

A few days ago I finally sat down and started sorting through my (many) boxes of baby clothes. After three kids I have acquired quite a collection and so far I have not been able to say goodbye to much (read any) of it, I always hoped I would need it again and here I am expecting baby no.4. I quickly realised that a lot of the clothes do no pass my style and quality test anymore so they will be off to the op-shop soon for a second life. Luckily I also invested in some beautiful Purebaby and Purekids pieces over the past few years and they still look amazing, I am so pleased I kept them all!

Purebaby is an Australian fashion label offering high quality and stylish organic clothing for babies (Purebaby) and children (Purekids), you can find both ranges in store at Sustainababy. We own quite a few Purebaby garments and I always receive the loveliest compliments about their designs. Aside from the classy look there is of course the softness and durability of the beautiful organic fabric so all together I am a big fan. For the new baby I have my eyes on the following (stay tuned for my Purekids top picks in a few weeks):

If our new arrival is a sweet little girl I will no doubt be ordering this Purebaby Cap Sleeve Growsuit ($30.50, size 000-0), can you tell I am little bit excited about having a summer baby? There is only such a short time babies can wear a growsuit so I am determined to make the most of it. With press studs in between the legs nappy changes should be a breeze. There are leggings and a summer hat available in the same gorgeous Everlasting Floral pattern.

Now how adorable is the Purebaby Roll Sleeve Growsuit ($34.95, size ooo-0)? I know I have said it before but I absolutely love stripes and this is such a classic look. I can just picture a (our?) little baby boy in it on a warm Summer day. Made from 100% organic cotton this is a perfect choice for the delicate skin of a newborn, after the eczema disasters we have had  I am extra aware this time!

Because we are not planning on finding out the gender of the baby I will have to be prepared for either and Purebaby has definitely got me covered with plenty of white and grey options. In fact, they have some gorgeous neutral sets and packs available that make great babyshower or hospital gifts. I love the look of this Purebaby Hospital Bag filled with lots of unisex pieces for the new addition and even a nightie for mum!

Summer at Sustainababy

I am a little disappointed in the weather this week. Last weekend was just perfect, a sunny 28 degrees and everyone seemed happier in an instant. Isn’t it amazing how people straight away put on their shorts and singlets at the first sign of summer? It made me all excited about taking some gorgeous pictures of the kids so hopefully we will get more nice weather very soon. I have got my eyes on some of Sustainababy‘s new arrivals from the beautiful Australian brands Baobab and Purebaby.

If there is any way I can still squeeze the baby in this lovely Baobab bodysuit I will do it, I can just imagine those chubby legs on show and the spotty fabric is very cute. I really like bodysuits on babies because they cover their bellies and backs, plus it keep their nappies well protected from curious fingers. Of course it is also very reassuring to know that Baobab clothing is made of very soft organic cotton and as I already own several Baobab pieces I know they stay beautiful wash after wash. This bodysuit ($37.95) is available in sizes 0-3 months up to 1 year.

Luckily for me Baobab does not only a baby range, most fabrics are available in bigger sizes (size 2-6) too but in a slightly different style to suit the age. So if she is too big for the bodysuit there is always the dress in the same print, although looking at the dresses I really love the vibrant blue colour of the Mimma Dress. It would look beautiful with my youngest daughters blue eyes and her blonde hair (there is not much of it but it is there!). Make sure you check out the other Baobab pieces too as I spotted some amazing winter bargains waiting to be scooped up.

You may have heard of Purebaby before but what you made not know is that the Purebaby range has been extended. The new Purebaby Kids range caters for children up to six years old because no matter how old kids are organic cotton is always best. The Skipper Blue Check Shirt ($49.95, size 3-6) is a perfect choice for the boys, just a bit more classy than most casual clothing yet just as comfortable.

Last but not least there is Cheeky Little Soles, who looks after the feet of tiny babies and early walkers up to approximately 2,5 years old. Some new walker styles are expected to arrive in store anyday, I had a sneak peek and can tell you that they are gorgeous. Have a look at these cool boy sandals called Henry! These walkers are made from premium non-toxic leather with a light-weight flexible rubber sole so they provide busy little feet with comfort, support and excellent grip.
