As the end of the year draws near I am secretly getting excited about getting back in shape in the new year, I have a wardrobe full of pre-baby clothes I can’t wait to wear again. As you can probably imagine delivering a 4.6kg baby was no easy task, recovery has been slow and unfortunately I am yet to get the doctor’s tick of approval to start exercising again. It has been almost three months since Ted was born and thankfully I am feeling a bit stronger every day so I am slowly picking up the pace with the help of Maze Activewear:

Designed for new, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers of all shapes and sizes Maze Activewear offers stylish, high quality activewear that is both practical and flattering. I am a bit disappointed that I only discovered this awesome label after Ted was born as I am loving this supportive yet comfy sports gear!

Most expecting mums will know that it is important to stay active during pregnancy, but at the same time your changing body and that rapidly growing bump can leave you feeling a bit out of balance and unsure. Don’t worry mama, Maze Activewear will help you feel confident and supported in all the right places with their fabulous over-the-belly Maternity Tights (RRP $79.95-$89.95, size XS – L).

Featuring a breathable and seam-free tummy panel that grows with you as your baby belly grows, stability power mesh that will make you strong and steady and hi-tech performance fabric these tights are your ultimate exercise buddy. They are available in both full length and a shorter 3/4 length and come in a range of neutral colours to compliment all your favourite workout gear.

Once baby has arrived most mamas will find their new body will take some getting used to, after 6 babies my body most certainly isn’t bouncing back the way celebrities seem to do! The Maze Activewear High Waisted 3/4 Tights (RRP $49.95, size XS-L) do a fantastic job keeping all those wobbly bits in place while the Active Core Stability technology provides much needed support for this poor mummy tummy which has had quite the beating. Added bonus: A handy zip pocket at the back to keep your gym pass or keys safe and mesh panels on the lower leg for extra air flow.

Whether I am at home or out and about and whether I am relaxing or working out, our big boy counts on easy nursing access. With the Nursing Sports Bra (RRP $59, size XS-L) you can get fit and feed at the same time, easy drop-down cups allow for convenient breastfeeding (and a nursing pad if desired) while the powerful nylon/spandex/cotton blend will keep you comfortable and supported through your entire training session. The ergonomic racer back design distributes the weight evenly and stops me from getting a sore back and shoulders.

Hip Tip: When you buy the Maternity Tights and Nursing Sports Bra together you get a welcome 15% bundle discount. For an even bigger saving why not join the Maze Activewear mailing list to enjoy an additional 10% discount on your first order, simply enter your email address at the bottom of the home page to receive your discount code in your inbox.

Every time I near my due date I aim for a last pre-baby visit to the hairdresser, mainly to cheer me up but sneakily also in the hope the birth photos turn out remotely OK. Sadly a sick little munchkin threw a spanner in the works this weekend so it’s another week of dull and dreary hair for me, this baby better stay put! At least my wonderful hubby gave up his Father’s Day to finish a long overdue room swap and I even got to make baby’s bassinet. Everyone is getting very excited!

After a long wait we finally enjoyed some beautiful sunny winter days this week, everyone and everything instantly looked a little brighter and happier. At least I can confidently say I have had lots and lots of wear out of my maternity winter wear this time, it has been boots and knits for pretty much the entire pregnancy! Lucky for me I have plenty of warm and cosy pieces to choose from, this comfy and casual outfit was just perfect for our Saturday walk up the local track:

Yesterday we finally had (what feels like) the first sunny day of this winter, it was such a lovely day and it really warmed the soul. We got to go outside and enjoy the sunshine, the kids were happy, hubby was happy and I enjoyed their happy faces. The latest baby check-up was all good which is always a relief too.

To be honest I have mixed feeling about the week ahead, we have Juliet’s birthday coming up (one very excited little girl here!) as well as Sybbie’s hearing test and first assessment at the specialist clinic so we can work on new ways to expand her speech (I know she will be fine but I am still nervous). If you have a spare minute I would love you to send some positive thoughts out way!

And then it was time again to set the alarms in the morning, pull out the uniforms, prep the lunch boxes and think of a Show & Tell topic for today, Term 3 is here! Yesterday was an absolutely lovely sunny winter day so we finished our school holidays with a relaxing afternoon at the Adelaide Botanic Gardens. You can easily spend a few hours walking the gardens while the kids burn off some energy running the grass fields, explore the many different plants and flowers, climbs the trees, feed the birds and much more. Of course we brought our beloved Joolz ride along, just in case little legs got tired from all the fun. We ended the day with ice-cream for everyone so there were happy faces all around.

If you are anything like me and shop mostly online you will agree with me that relying on photos can be dangerous. Especially now that I am shopping for maternity wear I get sucked in by professional product shots of super slim models with tiny bumps while in reality many mothers are a little ’rounder’ (putting it nicely!) with a baby onboard, especially when you are carrying baby no.5 like me. I like to keep things real here and I am not pretending to be that hot mama so no photo-shopping here, it’s me in all my frumpy but happy glory:

Madeleine Emma Dress

This stripey Emma Dress (RRP $120) by Madeleine Maternity has been one of my favourite purchases this pregnancy. It is super comfortable, soft and stretchy and washes well and I love how the wrap around tie accentuates my baby belly. After pregnancy the cross over top half allows for easy nursing access too. To keep my legs warm and toasty underneath I am wearing these simple but very versatile Over Belly Style Leggings ($10, bargain!) from Fertile Mind. I grabbed two pairs on sale and they are just perfect for wearing under tunics and dresses during the colder season, plus no see-through.

Isle of Charlie Ava

As you know I love running giveaways for my readers so to win something myself for a change was rather exciting. A few months ago I won this stunning Isle of Charlie Ava Baby Bag (RRP $319) from Szabo Maternity and I am still very much in love with it. The deep blue colour is very classy, the leather very luxurious and the generous size will allow me to bring all my baby gear with me when out and about. I can see this bag lasting well past the baby stage, thanks Szabo for making this mama feel extra special.

FRANKiE4 LiZ

I can’t tell you enough how much I love FRANKiE4, these LiZ Ankle Boots (RRP $285) are so supportive, strong and sturdy I will gladly wear them every day. Even now with my growing bump I feel comfortable and rock solid on the ground and not the tiniest twitch or pinch at all. Many women complain of sore feet during pregnancy but with either LiZ or JAMiE on my feet most days I have not had a single complaint yet and of course they look great too. The 70mm heel gives me a nice little lift so it makes me feel a bit less frumpy, bonus!

Fabrik Cable Cardigan

They say expecting mamas often feel warmer but I can’t say I am noticing that myself, I am very much feeling the cold this winter. This long Cable Cardigan (RRP $99.95) by Fabric is not really a maternity style but it does a great job keeping me warm and the black goes with most outfits so it’s very easy to mix and match. If you’re quick you can still pick one up at half price this long weekend!

Trilogy

Big Baby Shower – Day 14

Everywhere you go people are talking about how radiant and beautiful the Duchess of Cambridge looked during her pregnancy and especially shortly after the birth of princess Charlotte. Now I know most of you (including myself) can’t afford a personal hairdresser and make-up artist like Kate but we can learn from her beauty regime and add a touch of royalty approved luxury to our own skin thanks to Trilogy:

Trilogy Rosehip

As recorded in the media Her Royal Highness ‘uses rosehip oil in her daily skincare regiment’, to be more precise she ‘applies Trilogy’s Rosehip Oil, an all-natural oil that keeps wrinkles at bay’. Looking at her beautiful skin I think we all need some of that magic potion and you’ll be surprised how budget friendly it is.

Certified Organic Rosehip OilWomen around the globe are discovering the wonderful results that can be achieved with just a few drops of Trilogy’s pure, high quality Certified Organic Rosehip Oil (RRP $21.95, 20ml). Independent clinical studies show Certified Organic Rosehip Oil helps improve the appearance of scars, stretchmarks, fine lines and wrinkles. As a mum who has earnt her fair share of ‘tiger stripes’ I wish I had discovered this great product earlier, at least this time around I may avoid adding to my collection.

Very Gentle Calming SerumAnother hot favourite amongst expecting and new mums is the Very Gentle Calming Serum (RRP $42.95, 30ml), a light and soothing serum that helps calm fragile, irritated or intolerant skin. Being fragrance free it doesn’t aggravate my nausea and the absence of essential oils makes it a perfectly safe choice during pregnancy. If you are looking for effective hydration, but don’t want to slather a thick, suffocating cream on your skin you will absolutely love this gentle product.

To find out more about Trilogy, to locate a stockist near you or to order online visit www.trilogyproducts.com.
