During the 9 months of pregnancy most parents spend weeks, if not months, researching which pram to get. Prams are an expensive purchase and most of us use our pram quite a lot for a number of years. If you are anything like me you are pretty precious about your pram and the way you transport and store it, so when it comes to airtravel it can be hard to hand your beautiful ride over to the airport staff. At phil&teds they understand that people care about their pram and want to protect it during travel, which is why they designed the Universal Travel Bag:

The phil&teds Universal Travel Bag (RRP $100) is full of clever features to help make your trip easier, more comfortable and give you peace of mind. The strong polyester fabric is tough, hard wearing and built to withstand the (often) rough treatment on airplanes and airports. At the same time the padded lining provides your precious cargo with a soft cushioned ride.

phil&teds Universal Travel BagWhile the Universal Travel Bag is lightweight (less than 2kg) and compact when not in use, it is surprisingly large when it counts. You wouldn’t guess it but it ‘grows’ to a very generous 106 x 64 x 34cm! This means it is the ideal size for any phil&teds pram or car seat (as well as most other brands) with plenty of room left for other bits and pieces that you want to take on your trip. The adjustable sizing and heavy duty velcro closures allow for a nice, snug fit at any time so your luggage is not flopping around inside.

Universal Travel Bag ChilliYou can cart your Universal Travel Bag around airports, car parks and train stations with ease thanks to the sturdy wheels and if you need/want to carry it you can use the handy shoulder strap. The bag is available in a selection of stylish colours, from timeless and classic to bright and eye catching (easy to spot on the airport conveyor belt). The exclusive colour range is only available in the phil&teds Online Store.

Universal Travel Bag MossWe have taken our children overseas two times and we tend to do plenty of walking while on holiday, I would have loved to have our comfortable and very reliable pram with us on our trips but I have always been worried about it getting damaged during transport. It looks like I might have to get one of these fabulous Pram Travel Bags to take along on our next adventure, they look fantastic!

Life is not easy when you are two going on twenty. Miss Juliet is trying hard to get along with the twins but sometimes she is just a tad too young to keep up. While the twins are doing great eating at the big dinner table she is clearly not ready, wiggling around, hopping on and off and making a mess. Luckily we’ve recently found a solution that keeps everyone happy: the new phil&teds Poppy.

The phil&teds Poppy is not just an ordinary high chair, it is specifically designed to grow with your child and goes ‘from high chair to my chair’ in a flash.

Poppy High ChairThe sleek, simple, modern high chair is very easy to set up, the legs and feeding tray just click into place and no screws or tools are needed. Fitted with a five-point safety harness the Poppy can be used from ca. 6 months onwards (baby has to be able to hold up its head). As well as the safety straps the chair features a raised bar in between the legs to keep your baby from sliding down.

The molded seat is made with an insulating, hypo-allergenic, UV resistant and non-toxic material called aerocore to provide a soft and comfortable seating area. It is also waterproof and can be wiped clean, after all dinner time can get pretty messy! The large feeding tray is made with the same aerocore material for easy cleaning, and to really help out busy mums it can even be placed in the dishwasher. Because the tray is seamless there are no hiding spots for nasty bacteria to grow in.

Poppy My ChairOnce your child gets too big for a high chair you can convert your Poppy from high chair into a cool kids chair by removing the tray and shortening the four legs. The tray and legs just unclick and the raised part in between the legs simply unscrews (a smaller cover is included). The transformation takes just a few minutes and your new chair is ready, it’s the perfect seat for a kids bedroom, playroom or reading corner. With a generous weight limit of 20kg it can easily hold an average 3-4 year old (even my almost 5-year old weighs only 17kg).

Told you she's pretty chuffed with her chair :)

What I really like about the Poppy is that it, unlike our old high chair, slots nicely onto the dinner table so she can join the big people instead of sitting second row. She is still confined to a high chair and her food stays nicely in place on the tray but she doesn’t seem to mind as much as before. I also love that the tray is rounded so it fits much better around her body, most high chairs have straight, rectangular trays so lots of food seems to fall in between.

Setting up a nursery is expensive so make a smart investment and choose phil&teds Poppy ($149), the high chair that will last well past babyhood. Poppy is available in Lime, Bubblegum and Cranberry.

Important Safety Notice from phil&teds

Consistent with our unwavering commitment to safety we are providing consumers with notice of a voluntary recall to repair the now discontinued sport v2 and classic v1 strollers, manufactured between April 2008 and June 2010.

We are making available, free of charge, to all affected consumers a free self-fit hinge cover. This is in response to a number of reported cases in which the frame lock of a sport v2 (which shares a common hinge with the classic v1) was not utilised and an adult user caught a finger in the hinge mechanism, causing injury.

Of the phil&teds stroller range only these two strollers are affected by this recall to repair. All other models have different hinge mechanisms and are unaffected.

Safety is our first priority and through this voluntary effort we urge consumers to immediately obtain and fit the free kit which may be obtained via the online order form.

Should you have any queries at all please feel free to contact one of our trained customer service representatives.

phil&teds stresses that all users should read and adhere to the instruction manual which contains valuable safety tips and service recommendations.

Buggy identification methods:

The sport v2 and classic v1 were manufactured between March 2008 and May 2010. Affected serial numbers (located on the inner face of the main hinge, underneath the seat):

Sport V2 affected serial numbers – 0308/0001 to 0510/0840
Classic V1 affected serial numbers – 0308/0001 to 0510/0906
The strollers have the codes ‘SPv2’ (sport v2) or ‘E3C’ (classic v1) printed on the wrist safety strap attached to the stroller handle

To apply for your new hinge cover fill out the official recall to repair form.

Register for your new hinge covers before end of February as phil&teds will be giving away one explorer stroller and three lobster high chairs to four phil&teds owners who have registered for hinge covers!
