A few weeks ago I introduced you to Australian company Linenly, home to the most beautiful organic bamboo bedlinen. I have been so excited to discover their range and even more so to dive into a bed freshly made with bamboo goodness! After impatiently stalking the postman for my order I quickly gave my new linen its first wash and manage to swap my sheets just in time for bed…

Because many of you are new to bamboo I promised to share my thoughts on this luxurious range and I made sure to spend a good month trying it out. I slept on it and under it, I washed it and dried it, I ironed it (low setting!) and even squeezed in a few sleep-ins which is very rare for me! There is a lot I want to say about Linenly, but in short let’s just say we are very impressed.

My Linenly order arrived quickly, it was delivered in a matter of days and carefully wrapped for safe transport and delivery. As you can see even the packaging is eco friendly: this nice fabric bag (which matches the colour of your new sheets) holds all your new linen and if you’re a master folder you may even be able to store everything back in there whilst not in use. It would most certainly make it easy to keep the sheets and pillow cases neatly together in your linen cupboard.

The sheets are silky soft and you instantly notice the high quality. All Linenly bamboo sheets have a rich 400 thread count and have been made with a premium sateen weave, it feels like sliding into a deluxe hotel bed every single night. Even after washing our sheets several times the smooth, silky feeling remains, which confirms the quality and durability of this bamboo fabric. For more fabulous facts about bamboo check out my earlier post about Linenly.

Keeping our old sheets onto our extra thick king size mattress was a daily cause of frustration but the Linenly fitted sheets are a generous 40cm deep (and stretchy) and therefore stay perfectly in place. I was so pleased with how the ‘forest’ colour matched with the headboard of our new King Living bed, it looks really clean and calming. Rest assured, there are eight stunning colours to choose from so there is a perfect shade for every bedroom.

If you are keen to give bamboo a go now is the time, with Linenly offering a massive 40% discount on all Linenly bamboo sheet sets. Prices are as marked, Australia-wide delivery is free for orders over $150.

For as long as I can remember I have loved coconut. As a child I would be over the moon if my mum bought a coconut, savouring every piece I could get out of the shell. As a teenager I was addicted to the tropical scent of coconut shampoos and body creams and of course I would eat more than my share of yummy Bounty bars. Aside from the delicious smell and the scrumptious flavour coconut is full of fabulous health benefits, so I knew I was in for a treat when I discovered Cocobare Baby:

Made right here in Australia by the skincare experts at Beauty Ninja this lovely coconut based baby skincare range is the bee’s knees, one little sniff and you’re hooked! Cocobare Baby skincare uses naturally derived and organic ingredients to keep your baby’s delicate skin in tip top shape (and secretly this mama adores it too).

Unlike many other skincare brands, that use water and synthetic ingredients to treat only the top layer of the skin, Cocobare Baby uses soothing coconut oil which penetrates deeper, making it an excellent moisturiser and nourisher. Not only does it pamper the skin thoroughly, it also kills harmful micro-organisms so it is a gentle but strong protector too. Combine that with natural superheroes like chamomile, aloe vera, calendula oil and Shea butter and you’re in for a treat.

Whether you are fighting a battle with stubborn nappy rash, flaky cradle cap or itchy eczema or just want to keep your baby’s skin soft and supple Cocobare Baby has you covered from top to toe with a Baby Wash, Shampoo, 2-in-1 Shampoo and Baby Wash, Lotion, Bottom Balm and Massage Oil. The entire Cocobare Baby range is completely free from nasty minerals, paraben and palm oil, ensuring parents they are making the right choice for their precious little bundle and the environment at the same time. Cocobare is not tested on animals so our little fluffy bundles give it the thumbs up too!

To find out more about Cocobare Baby, to locate a stockist near you or to order online visit www.cocobarebaby.com, prices range from RRP $9.95-$15.95.

Isn’t it strange? As parents most of us are very cautious about the skincare we use on our children, yet we don’t look after ourselves nearly as well. With more and more serious concerns being raised about the potentially harmful ingredients in regular skincare products it is important to take a closer look at your bathroom cupboard and remove the nasties, skin-safe should be the norm for there whole family.

A super simple ‘nasties-to-natural’ swap is replacing your ordinary deodorant (a must in the sticky Australian weather) for an all natural alternative. Vegan-friendly skincare label MyAura ticks all the boxes with their gentle All Natural Roll-On Deodorant Stick, allowing you to enjoy that nice fresh feeling without the fear of applying something scary directly onto your skin.

The MyAura Organics Deodorant Stick (RRP $9) is completely free from worrying contents like aluminium, zinc, alcohol and synthetic fragrances and instead contains skin-safe aloe vera, Vitamin E, Shea butter and essential oils. Not only will your skin thank you for this healthy swap, the environment will too as MyAura products are cruelty-free, free from palm oil and produced in an eco-responsible facility using environmentally low-impact raw materials.

I recently ditched my regular aerosol anti-perspirant for MyAura and was pleasantly surprised. I will admit that it takes a bit of getting used to: When you have always relied on that sharp tingly sensation of a deodorant spray to make you feel fresh, a gentle roll of the MyAura Deodorant Stick initially may not feel like it will do the trick. However I really loved the smell and it almost felt as if I applied a nourishing cream, so I continued using it and (while on hot days you may want to apply it more than once) it definitely provided a nice clean feel. Remember that you only need a thin layer, as too much may result in a clumping (not that much of a problem as you can just rub it into your skin).

The MyAura Organics All Natural Deodorant is currently available in four delightful fragrances: Bergamot Lime Coconut, Rose Vanilla Jasmine, Lavender Sage Rosemary and Ylang Ylang Rose. You can find the range on the shelf of your local Coles or Woolworths supermarket, at selected pharmacies and online, how convenient is that?

I am sure many mums will understand me when I say that I do not at all feel ready for these tweens years yet! The uggs are back in use, the woodfire is on and the beds are made with flannelette sheets… the cold season has well and truly arrived! She may be old enough for a proper girl bed, but Hattie is definitely not big enough to manage the sheets and keep her quilt on throughout the night. Of course I hate to think that she’s laying there in the cold, so I trust ergoPouch to keep her warm all night long:

Super soft, padded and snuggly warm, stepping into a ergoPouch 2.5 TOG Winter Sleep Suit (RRP $64.95) is pretty much like being wrapped up in a cosy quilt that fits your body like a glove. I secretly wish they made these awesome sleep suits in my size too!

Over the years ergoPouch has become known around the globe for its dedication to natural fibres, offering parents a safe choice for their baby and the environment. By avoiding nasty chemicals and itchy synthetic fabrics ergoPouch has also earnt the tick of approval from the Eczema Association, great peace of mind for those with sensitive skin! The Winter Sleep Suit outer is made with 95% organic cotton with a touch of elastane to allow active kids to move around freely, while the thick 100% organic cotton filling keeps cold chills at bay with a 2.5 TOG rating.

As Hattie is past the sleeping bag stage the Winter Sleep Suit is the perfect next step, it’s just as comfortable and warm and at the same time it allows her to hop in and out of bed by herself and walk around too. Dressing your little sleepy head and midnight nappy checks/changes are a breeze thanks to the special three-way zip, opening up both the front and back. It also has super handy fold-over cuffs at the wrists (up to size 2) and ankles, allowing you to cover tiny toes and little hands in just a flash.

The 2.5 TOG Winter Sleep Suit is currently available in sizes 1 to 5 years and comes in three gorgeous prints to suit boys and girls: Midnight Arrows, Petals and Triangle Pops.

Australian designer label ergoPouch takes the guessing out of bedtime dressing with an award-winning range of ergonomically designed swaddles, sleeping bags and sleep suit bags, all made from breathable, skin-friendly natural fibres. The set is completed with the clever ergoLayers collection, ensuring little ones can sleep safely and comfortably anytime and anywhere.

The cool and breezy 0.2 TOG short sleeve ergoLayers (RRP $24.95, size 0-3 months up to 3 years) are the perfect layering solution to be used with the rest of the ergoPouch range. No more wondering what to put on your baby under his/her sleeping bag or sleep suit, now that’s easy! Lovingly created with soft organic cotton (and a touch of elastane so your baby can move freely) these gorgeous suits are super gentle on sensitive skin making them ideal for all, even tiny newborns.

Being quite the chubba bubba our little Ted gets hot and sweaty easily, so I love that ergoLayers are thin and breathable. ergoLayers are nice and snug as well as stretchy and thin, I like to think of them as a reassuring, cosy hug! Instead of fiddly press studs a quick zip makes dressing and undressing simple and speedy while the top of the zip is covered with fabric, so it will not irritate or hurt your baby.

Simply work out the temperature in your baby’s nursery (a complimentary room thermometer is included) and refer to the easy-to-understand ergoPouch What to Wear guide to select the right ergoLayers and TOG-rating combination for your child’s sleeping environment, the ergoEcosystem is all about helping babies and their parents get the sleep they need whilst being SIDS-safe and stylish at the same time.
