Yesterday we finally had (what feels like) the first sunny day of this winter, it was such a lovely day and it really warmed the soul. We got to go outside and enjoy the sunshine, the kids were happy, hubby was happy and I enjoyed their happy faces. The latest baby check-up was all good which is always a relief too.

To be honest I have mixed feeling about the week ahead, we have Juliet’s birthday coming up (one very excited little girl here!) as well as Sybbie’s hearing test and first assessment at the specialist clinic so we can work on new ways to expand her speech (I know she will be fine but I am still nervous). If you have a spare minute I would love you to send some positive thoughts out way!

I can hardly believe it but it has been one whole month since our baby arrived. Some days it is a real challenge to stay organised with four small children, even with careful planning there is plenty that doesn’t get done let alone find time to shop for myself. With quite a few ‘baby kilos’ already gone I have had to pack my maternity wardrobe away and really needed a few new pieces to get ready for the chilly days ahead. Luckily I can always count on Coles to help me out, while I do my ordinary grocery shopping I can quickly check out the new Merino range from Mix @ Coles.

MerinoAs you may know Australian Merino wool has a lot of great qualities so it is not surprising it is a popular fabric choice, here in Australia but also worldwide. The insulating properties of this natural fibre cleverly keep your body at a comfortable temperature, keeping you cool on warmer days and warm on the cool days. This makes it the perfect choice for the autumn season because we all know the weather is hard to predict.

Merino CardiganThe Mix @ Coles Merino range consists of a beautiful selection of cardigans and jumpers made with 100% Australian Merino wool. The luxurious feel, light weight and classy look will appeal to many mums and I haven’t even started about the very attractive $25 price tag. Featuring on trend colours black, charcoal, red and purple the new Mix range will slot right in with your hip autumn/winter wardrobe.

As sad as it makes me I have to admit that these days I don’t see many shops on the inside except for a supermarket. Between looking after my three munchkins, (trying to) run my household and sharing my hip finds on Hip little one there is just not much time left to go out shopping, especially for myself. When I do need something I often end up browsing online stores, waiting a few days for my order to arrive online to find that the sizing is completely off, so I have to either go to the post office and pay to return the items or make the trip to the shopping centre, struggle to find a park and push my way through a crowded mall to return the item in store. Coles decided it would be much easier if you could just buy yourself a new outfit whilst you do your weekly grocery shop.

Now I hear you gasp for air as you think of those grey tracksuit pants and fluffy house socks you once picked up at Coles on a rainy Friday night when you were planning a stay-in weekend with junk food and movies. We would love to pretend it never happened but many of us have hidden a pair of Coles flannelette pyjama’s under our weekly shopping. By no means am I suggesting that those buys are now hip and stylish, in fact Coles too has realised that their fashion department was in desperate need of a huge makeover and have done so by introducing Mix Apparel.

Mix Apparel is designed exclusively for Coles by Canadian designer Joseph Mimran and you’ll be pleased to know that you can get your very own designer pieces without paying for the designer pricetag. The most expensive Mix Apparel item costs just $39 so you can put together a hip look even on a small budget, right there in the supermarket aisle next to your laundry needs and toiletries.

From pants to dresses, bikini’s to sunglasses, bags to hats and shoes to necklaces, Mix Apparel has got you covered. These are some of the looks I would have loved to wear the past weekend in Melbourne. A light and summery button up dress ($39) for exploring the promenade on that very hot Friday, a comfortable and classy outfit (smocked tunic $25) for travelling by car on the rainy Saturday and a casual yet stylish combi (jeans $29) for the Kids Business Bloggers Brunch.

The extensive Mix range is designed to be easy to mix and match, within the range but also with items you already own. With new pieces arriving every two weeks there will be something new to look at every time you do your groceries and of course it is always bang on trend. Simply add your Mix items to your trolley and pay for them with the rest of your shopping. At Mix they know mums don’t have much time so you get 30 days for exchanges or refunds.
