A few weeks ago I introduced you to Australian company Linenly, home to the most beautiful organic bamboo bedlinen. I have been so excited to discover their range and even more so to dive into a bed freshly made with bamboo goodness! After impatiently stalking the postman for my order I quickly gave my new linen its first wash and manage to swap my sheets just in time for bed…

Because many of you are new to bamboo I promised to share my thoughts on this luxurious range and I made sure to spend a good month trying it out. I slept on it and under it, I washed it and dried it, I ironed it (low setting!) and even squeezed in a few sleep-ins which is very rare for me! There is a lot I want to say about Linenly, but in short let’s just say we are very impressed.

My Linenly order arrived quickly, it was delivered in a matter of days and carefully wrapped for safe transport and delivery. As you can see even the packaging is eco friendly: this nice fabric bag (which matches the colour of your new sheets) holds all your new linen and if you’re a master folder you may even be able to store everything back in there whilst not in use. It would most certainly make it easy to keep the sheets and pillow cases neatly together in your linen cupboard.

The sheets are silky soft and you instantly notice the high quality. All Linenly bamboo sheets have a rich 400 thread count and have been made with a premium sateen weave, it feels like sliding into a deluxe hotel bed every single night. Even after washing our sheets several times the smooth, silky feeling remains, which confirms the quality and durability of this bamboo fabric. For more fabulous facts about bamboo check out my earlier post about Linenly.

Keeping our old sheets onto our extra thick king size mattress was a daily cause of frustration but the Linenly fitted sheets are a generous 40cm deep (and stretchy) and therefore stay perfectly in place. I was so pleased with how the ‘forest’ colour matched with the headboard of our new King Living bed, it looks really clean and calming. Rest assured, there are eight stunning colours to choose from so there is a perfect shade for every bedroom.

If you are keen to give bamboo a go now is the time, with Linenly offering a massive 40% discount on all Linenly bamboo sheet sets. Prices are as marked, Australia-wide delivery is free for orders over $150.

bedSOK (2)

Big Baby Shower – Day 16

All my loyal Hip Little One readers know that I LOVE bedSOK. We use bedSOKS on each of our single beds and I could not live without them anymore, they make my life so much easier! I dare to say that anyone who tries a bedSOK will be won over immediately, it’s a winning concept and it is designed right here in Australia:

So what exactly is a bedSOK? A bedSOK is a super handy all-in-one sheet: a fitted sheet with an attached flat top sheet that simply zips up on each side plus a matching pillow case. Not only does this clever design keep the sheets in place when your child is asleep (no kicking down the covers and no cold chills), it also makes making the bed a breeze (particularly convenient on bunk beds!).

Of course the bedSOK can be used on a single bed and king single bed it is available in cot/toddler bed size too so I think it would make a fantastic gift for a new arrival or even a first birthday. No endless bending over the cot to tuck in a flat sheet that comes undone easily, just pop the elasticised corners of the bedSOK over your mattress like a fitted sheet and all your sheets are in place in one go. There are currently four great colours to choose from, including a fluffy white flannelette option for winter.

Christmas Countdown – Day 20

Now that warmer weather has arrived we can finally fold away the thick winter quilts and padded doonas, about time! As a mum of four I could easily spend a lot of timing making beds and washing linen so I love this ‘light sleeping season’ and bedSOK makes it even easier:

Designed right here in Australia by one very talented mama bedSOK is a convenient all-in-one zip-up sheet for children. We first discovered bedSOK about a year ago and it has been a Godsend, I can not imagine being without it now and I have recommended it to so many other busy mums already.

bedSOK Pink SpotBy cleverly combining a flat and fitted sheet in one great product it reduces your washing, makes storing your linen easier, making beds quicker and it keeps the sheets in place when your little one moved around in his/her sleep. To make the bed just pop the bedSOK on your bed like a fitted sheet, the flat sheet is attached to the bottom sheet so it is automatically in place and all you need to do is open the zip on one side to let your little sleeper in.

Summer Spot bedSOKA bedSOK consists of a 100% cotton all-in-one zip sheet and matching pillowcase, packed together in a lovely drawstring storage bag (we use ours as a pyjama bag). The bedSOK is available in a Cot, Single and King Single size and comes in a range of colour to suits boys, girls and  gender neutral bedrooms. During winter you can count on the Fluffy White flannelette bedSOK to keep you warm and toasty while the new Summer Spot bedSOK keep you comfortable and cool in summer.

Little Big Room

With only one week to go until our 23rd Big Birthday Bash giveaway comes to end I am starting to get very excited about drawing the lucky winner of that beautiful Little Big Room bedding set from Where Did You Get That?. It’s so much fun reading all the entries and seeing which styles are the current favourites. If you missed the original giveaway you can still read it here and get your entries in but if you’re in a rush you can also take a short cut and enter below, easy peasy.

LBR Girls 2

A lot of votes are going to the gorgeous Flowers design and I have to admit I am not surprised, it’s my personal fave too. The soft green and pink tones are absolutely delightful and perfect for a sweet girl, no matter what age. Just like all the other Little Big Room linen this bedding set is reversible so you can enjoy these two pretty looks for the same price, which one do you like most?

Little Big Room ButterfliesTo help you create the ultimate Little Big Room you can add a few, or all, of the matching decor pieces and really complete the look. A feature wall (or even just one banner) of Little Big Room wall paper is a very easy way to freshen up a plain wall, there are lots of stunning wall papers to choose from. For a super speedy (and less permanent) makeover why not decorate a blank space with some sweet wall stickers or replace your boring light by an eye catching light shade, they’re small changes that can make a big difference.

Little Big Room Maltese Light ShadeFor the boys it’s neck and neck between the Graphic and Checks Quilt Cover Set but Checks is slightly ahead. The funky geometrical design featuring neutral base tones with a bright pop of yellow is a welcome change from the classic navy and red you see in many boys bedrooms. Sharp and edgy on one side and soft and rounder on the reverse, change the look every time you change the bed.

All Little Big Room bedding sets ($99.95) are made from 100% cotton and contain a single bed quilt cover and matching pillow case, other accessories are sold separately so you can mix and match to your heart’s desire.
