While I had a wonderful time with my family in The Netherlands, and the surprised look on my parents’ face was worth a million dollars, nothing compared to coming home to my beautiful family again. I missed them so much and it was lovely to still have a few free days to spend together before the start of term 2. On Sunday we explored ‘our’ backyard, a perfect opportunity to take some snaps of their new Cotton On Kids Winter gear and to capture how much they have grown.

All Kids Cotton On Kids

Even though Tommie and Olivia are the same age he is clearly the leader of the pack, the tallest in size and generally the one telling everyone else what to do. Sometimes finding a good pair of jeans for him can be really tricky so I am very pleased with the Stan Cuff Jean in Indigo Rise (RRP $39.95, size 1-8), they are an excellent fit and have a handy adjustable waist. The elasticised ankle cuffs look really cool and it stops the hems dragging trough puddles, mud and wet grass, very practical during this messy season.

Version 2

The jeans are teamed up with the fresh and fruity Marcus Bear Pullover Hoodie in Vitamin Orange (RRP $24.95, size 1-8), perfect for brightening up a dark and dreary day. These great hoodies are available in range of colours and prints and you can pocket a welcome saving if you buy two at a time ($35 per two), I may have to grab some more to get us through the cooler months.

Juliet Cotton On Kids

Somehow miss Juliet’s gorgeous curls make everything look heavenly, even this fluffy blue Sarah Jumper (RRP $34.95, size 1-8) looks angelic combined with her golden locks. A Sunday afternoon walk in the woods is probably not your logical occasion to wear a silver tutu but when you’re 4 you can get away with this eye catching look, and how can you say no to a sweet smile like that anyway? Teamed up with the Huggie Tights in Light Grey Marle/White Geo (RRP $12.95, size 1-8).

Juliet Tutu Cotton On Kids

As a mother of three girls glitter is part of our every day life. Tiaras, star wands, tutus and sparkly jewellery, the more glitter the better and preferably everything at once. This little darling may not have the slim body shape of a real ballerina but there is certainly no lack of passion. The Mimi Cardi (RRP $34.95, size 1-8) is officially her sister’s but she claims it’s the perfect silver match for the Lydia Tulle Skirt (RRP $22.95, size 1-8). Add to that the Kids Primo in Dusk Sparkle (RRP $10, size 1-13), which in our home doubles as the child-friendly glass slipper, and Cinderella is ready for the ball.

Sybil Cotton On Kids

At 2 years old our miss Sybbie is a real girl now, she is no longer a baby. How adorable is this belted Joey Long Jumpsuit (RRP $39.95, size 1-8) with golden spots? I wish it came in my size too! The denim is so versatile, I went for a white tee this time but you can easily combine it with different colour tops and shoes. Unlike many other jumpsuits it has a zip closure, making quick toilet breaks a lot easier for active kids.

Olivia Cotton On Kids

Our beautiful 6-year old Olivia is sporting the Wednesday Dress (RRP $22.95, size 1-8), we think it looks great on Sundays too. The neutral charcoal colour is easy to mix and match and the glitter stars are very sweet and not too blingy, a perfect compromise for mum and daughter. She wears the dress with a comfortable pair of Huggie Tights in Light Grey Marle (RRP $12.95, size 1-10), these leggings are so handy to have in your wardrobe and go with lots of different outfits. Olivia always feels the cold so she is pretty chuffed with this cute Pom Pom Beanie (RRP $14.95).

All Four Cotton On Kids

By the way, a fantastic collection of kids coats, jackets and puffer vests for both boys and girls has just arrived in all Cotton On Kids stores. Prices range from $36.95 to $54.95, providing parents with trendy but affordable options to suit your family budget. The cool and cosy Zac Duffle Coat (RRP $54.95, size 1-8) is proving to be one of the top sellers this season so if your boy would think this awesome coat is totally rad you better be quick and grab your size before they sell out.

Oksa, for mamas with style

With only a few weeks to go until the arrival of baby no.4 my time of shopping for maternity wear has (sadly) come to an end. Don’t worry, instead I am now keeping an eye out for gorgeous nursing items and I have found lots of beautiful pieces already. Buying breastfeeding clothing is not easy though, after all I don’t know if and how long I will be able to breastfeed for and then there is the issue of baby weight… One brand that clearly understand these concerns and designs its range accordingly is Oksa.

Contrast Pleated Maxi DressOksa is an Australian fashion label created by mum Kirsten, you can find the Oksa range at stockists in Australia and New Zealand. The range consists of beautiful maternity and nursing clothing designed with real women in mind. From dresses to pants, from tops to skirts, every single item is super stylish and very flattering to suit your growing belly and/or adjust with you as you find your ‘old’ shape back after delivery.

You can tell there is a real mum behind this brand, someone who understands exactly what we like and don’t like! I recently made my first purchase at Oksa and am very impressed with the quality and fit. I spotted this black Oksa Jumpsuit a few months ago but as it was already sold out in my size I quickly put my name down for the second delivery of this popular style, I am so glad I did.

Oksa Black Jumpsuit

Oksa Stripe JumpsuitThe cute jumpsuit is super soft, stretchy and cool which is perfect for the hot summer weather. The loose cut flatters a baby bump (and hides a post baby belly) and it has discrete zips on each side so it is perfect for breastfeeding too, a real winner for my wardrobe! I also love the sweet cut-out button detail at the back, just in case you thought all-black was a little plain. The Oksa jumpsuit ($119.95) is available in black and in navy/white stripe (still on my wishlist) and comes in sizes 8-16.

I have no doubt that I will be purchasing other Oksa styles in the future, it will be so nice to wear breastfeeding friendly clothing and still look stylish. There is no need to look boring and wear baggy garments, Oksa makes it really easy to be a hip mama!

Last week I took the twins to the local kindy to pick up their enrolment forms for next year. They loved it and wished they could stay straight away but obviously it is all making me a little nervous. The kindy director told me there could be up to 35 children in the kindy class and when I checked out the paintings on the wall I noticed that there were multiple children with the same name. Obviously I can’t really prevent this happening to my kids next year but at least I am quite sure they won’t be wearing the same clothes as other children as well. If you are after something quirky and original you will love Hoot Kid’s Clothing.

Hoot Kid’s Clothing is a new Australian store selling clothing and accessories for boys and girls up to 7 years old. What makes this store so unique is that they only sell one size range of each garment, making the chance extremely slim that your hip son or daughter will bump into someone else wearing the same outfit. Owner Caroline has made it her mission to source funky pieces from designers all over the world and she has definitely succeeded.

Brand new in store, fresh out of the box, is the Say it with Flowers Jumpsuit ($29.95, size 1-6). This beautiful navy coloured jumpsuit with floral print is the must-have summer garment for little fashionista’s. It features cute shoulder ties, an elastisiced waist and cuffs and even pockets on the side. As there is only one garment available in each size you will have to be quick if you want to own this sweet little number.

Aside from the every changing clothing range Hoot Kid’s Clothing offers a great selection of affordable accessories, a cute necklace, bracelet or set of hair clips would make a fabulous stocking filler (did you realise Christmas is just 5,5 weeks away?). To give you a helping hand with your shopping Hip little one readers get $5 discount on every order they place with the code ‘hiplittleone’, there is no minimum spend and there is no end date either!
