With less than four weeks to go until our big holiday I am starting to feel a little pressed for time. Packing for eight, passports and paperwork, preparing school activities for our trip, keeping on top of the housework, every day life with a big family… and don’t forget gift shopping for our family and loved ones! I am so excited to meet my two brand new nephews for the first time and we can’t wait to spoil them with plenty of gifts.

If you’re shopping for a sweet new arrival but are a little short on time (who isn’t these days?) or lack inspiration you are sure to appreciate My Baby Gifts. The clever team behind this fabulous Australian online store takes the hassle out of baby gift shopping by putting together the perfect baby present and delivering it straight to the lucky recipient, packed in a gorgeous gift box. Surely shopping for presents doesn’t get any easier than that!

My Baby Gifts has the whole family covered with a range of lovingly handpicked gifts for precious newborns (including twins), as well as their proud siblings and the new parents. Especially for eco-conscious parents there are some wonderful organic options available too.

I know I shouldn’t play favourites but this adorable baby blue Peter Rabbit Gift Hamper is one of my top picks, I love that it contains gifts to be enjoyed right now and some to be used as baby gets bigger. The little plush bunny and Peter Rabbit feeding set would be treasured for many years to come. You can even add a celebratory bottle of Moët & Chandon (200ml) to surprise mum and dad!

Every single hamper item has been carefully selected for its high quality, durability and style and many of the labels stocked by My Baby Gifts are proudly Australian, eg. Bonds, Marquise and Emotion & Kids. Good to know: The standard shipping rate is just $9.95 Australia wide, so you can send your birth, baby shower or christening gifts interstate without breaking the bank and you don’t even have to take care of the gift wrapping! Over the last few weeks I have provided you with a wide range of non-edible Easter gift suggestions, have you picked up a gorgeous bunny gift yet? I won’t lie, I know very well how hard it is to resist a yummy chocolate treat and sometimes it is like the Easter chocolate aisle is just calling your name and that’s okay (in moderation). The magical Cadbury Easter range is particularly tempting this year with the release of some fantastic new products:

Cadbury Marvellous Creations EggsIf you’re like me and enjoyed sampling all the Marvellous Creations blocks throughout the year you don’t want to miss the return of the special Marvellous Creations Easter flavour. Share the funky flavours of Popping Candy and Raspberry Chips, coated in Cadbury’s signature Dairy Milk chocolate, with your friends and tingle your taste buds with the Cadbury Marvellous Creations Egg Bag (RRP $4.69, 110g).

Cadbury Creme EggI think it will be a safe bet to say that the new Cadbury Crème Egg Jar (RRP $25, 464g) will be one of the biggest winners this Easter season. I know you can indulge in Cadbury Crème Eggs all year around but weighing it almost half a kilo this big egg containing a mix of delicious Cadbury Crème Eggs and Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate would have to be the ultimate creamy Easter gift.

Cadbury Old GoldOf course you can pick up a scrumptious Easter version of your other favourite Cadbury flavours too, score big brownie points and spoil your loved ones with an impressive Cadbury Old Gold Egg (RRP $20, 420g) or Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg (RRP $20, 420g). Thinking of treating your child’s teacher to a tasty treat to enjoy in the Easter holidays? Why not swap the traditional Cadbury Roses gift box for the new Cadbury Roses Egg (RRP 20, 420g).

Cadbury Easter BunnyYear after year it is Cadbury’s most popular Easter purchase and this year the famous Cadbury Dairy Milk Bunny (RRP $5.50, 150g) is back in a new boy and girl version. For kids a chocolate bunny is such a special treat, I remember savouring mine for days taking only a tiny nibble here and there to make it last as long as possible. Whether you enjoy it slowly and go all out, research has shown that most people start at the ears. How do you like your bunny?

Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt PackAs always the annual Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt and Family Picnic at Werribee Park sold out in a flash, which is great news for the Good Friday Appeal who will be the well deserving recipients of all proceeds. Don’t worry, you can still enjoy your very own Cadbury Easter hunt at home with this awesome Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt Pack (RRP $12, 258g). Over the past few weeks I have given you quite few non-edible Easter gift suggestions, making sure your little people are left with more than empty wrappers after Easter. In our family we are generally very healthy eaters so chocolate is a (much loved) occasional treat, I know it is hard to believe but I am yet to eat an Easter egg this year!

Cadbury Caramello Easter eggsIn saying that it is pretty hard to do your grocery shopping and avoid the delicious indulgence that is Cadbury, it is everywhere and it is all so yummy! Chocolate bunnies big and small, Easter eggs in a array of scrumptious flavours and fillings, there is so much Cadbury goodness to choose from this time of year. Caramello, Turkish Delight, Crunchie, Strawberry, Top Deck, Old Gold, how do you like your eggs?

Cadbury Marvellous Creations BunnyAfter the huge success of the Cadbury Marvellous Creations range it is no surprise that the special Cadbury Marvellous Creations Easter products are flying off the shelves. Also available are Cadbury Mini Eggs, an old favourite for many and great to share with friends and family. Pleasantly priced at just $1.60 for a 45g on-the-go box and $4.50 for a 125g family share bag Mini Eggs are a must-have for the upcoming Easter weekend.

I bet my skinny jeans are very grateful that I am unable to win my own giveaways, instead we will make one lucky Hip little one reader happy with a huge Cadbury Easter hamper valued at $100. Please note, products may vary due to availability.

Speckled House

When people hear we have four kids they usually say the same two things: ‘Your house must be so noisy!’ and ‘I bet they make lots of mess’. Yes, the kids do make lots of noise, there are always little people chatting, laughing, singing, playing, dancing and of course sometimes crying or arguing. But when it comes to mess you’ll be surprised, I love an organised house and I’ve trained them well, they really are quite good at keeping things tidy.

Elephant Storage HamperI think our smartest move was to create a playroom, even if it meant I dom’t currently have an office to work in. Now the kids can keep all their toys, dolls, craft and books in one room as opposed to spread out over all the bedrooms. Little visitors know exactly where to go to play and the kids bedrooms are usually mess free, so there is no distraction at bedtime and it makes it easy for me to scoot in with the vacuum.

Star Storage HamperIn the playroom we use a few handy storage solutions to keep everything neat, clear and easy to find, our latest storage addition is a lovely storage hamper by Australian designer label Speckled House. Made from strong and sturdy canvas and fitted with easy carry handles (large tubs only) the stylish Speckled House Storage Hampers are perfect for neatly storing all those loose toys in bedrooms, playrooms and even your living room.

Our playroom cupboard is filled with toys for the three older kids and I keep all the baby toys together in our Mushroom Canvas Storage Hamper ($59.95). I can easily carry the hamper from room to room to keep baby Sybil happy while I do my chores, very handy! Measuring a generous 45cm high and 50cm diameter you can fit lots in and the hampers keep their shape really well.

Speckled House Mushroom Hamper

There are currently seven different Storage Hampers to choose from in two different sizes (small and square $44.95/large and round $59.95) and with different designs to suit boys, girls and gender neutral rooms. I love how these hip storage solutions become part of your room decor and add a warm, cosy touch (especially compared to cold plastics).

May 102012

With the start of kindy just 3 months away I recently picked up the twins’ welcome packs so I can read up on all we need to know and all they need to bring on this new adventure. As three of my children are allergic to dairy I am very aware of allergy policies at schools and I was pleased to see our future kindy is very aware of allergies too. If you are looking for that perfect lunchbox treat that is healthy, tasty and safe you’ll love these yummy bars from Freedom Foods.

The name of the Nut Free Muesli Bars doesn’t actually do them justice, they are not only completely free from nuts but also free from gluten, wheat, dairy, yeast and eggs. Surely a bar doesn’t get any more allergy friendly than that? On top of being safe the bars are tasty too, made with wholegrains, juicy Australian fruit pieces and nutritious seeds. Unlike most bars the ingredients of the Nut Free Muesli Bars are only slightly warmed to preserve nutrients and keep the naturally wholesome flavours.

If you are on track with all the latest health trends you have probably heard about the super food quinoa, this grain is tiny in size but it makes up for it in nutritional properties. The brand new nut free Ancient Grains Super Bar contains a puffed version of this hugely popular grain and together with puffed millet, cereals, seeds and fruit makes for a delicious bar packed full of goodness (think magnesium, antioxidants, protein and fibre).

Since starting my healthy craze on January 1st I have come to understand the importance of a good, healthy breakfast. I never used to have breakfast and just grabbed something quick when I could find a spare minute (some days nothing at all) and never realised the disastrous effect it had on me. I think the Berry Good Morning cereal looks and sounds fantastic and I am very keen to give it a try, cranberries are one of my favourites these days so combined with dates and tasty flakes it has to be a winner.

Baby Bundle

Sep 292011

Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of visiting a beautiful one-day-old baby in hospital. She was just gorgeous and tiny and I brought some lovely gifts along that I think the mum really liked. It is not always easy to find the right gift and there is nothing worse than giving a present that the new parents don’t like or need. Of course they still appreciate the thought behind but it is much nicer to be able to give something unique they will love. Australian mum Anna felt the same way so she decided to help you with your gift shopping by opening her own little online store called Baby Bundle.

In store you’ll find a great selection of gifts for babies and mums, handpicked by Anna herself. Pick one item, a premade gift set or even have Baby Bundle put together a custom made bundle to suit your budget. Orders are delivered within 48 hours of receiving payment and they can be sent directly to the lucky receiver to make it easy (even to the hospital). I spotted some very cute new arrivals in store like the cheeky Little Owl Pillow Pal (24.95), he has a twin sister too.

If you like the very hip owl trend you will probably love this sweet carry case gift set by Annabel Trends ($39.95), a lovely reusable carry case filled with a gorgeous owl-print t-shirt and two pairs of matching owl socks. Designed for babies aged 6-12 months it will last a little longer than the tiny newborn clothes they grown out of so quickly. The carry case will make a lovely storage box for in the baby room.

Of course it is not just about owls at Baby Bundle, you can choose from all kinds of products that will come in handy with a new baby from skin care products to clothing, toys to baby shoes, baby wraps to feeding pillows, even nappy bags and mummy journals. With prices starting at just $7.99 up to $250 there is a perfect gift or gift bundle for every budget. All purchases include free gift wrapping and a gift card, gift shopping doesn’t get much easier than this.
