Tea Collection

Rain or shine, summer or winter, anyone who knows my daughters will know that my girls always wear dresses. Between our three little ladies we have gathered quite the collection and wherever we go people comment on their lovely frocks. Of course they’re all gorgeous but is obvious that their Tea Collection dresses are a real standout and after seeing the latest Daily Tea arrivals at Where Did You Get That? I think we may have to get a few more coat hangers:

Daily Tea Dress

So what are my hot picks for the upcoming season? I have definitely got my eye on this super sweet Cherry Blossom Layer Dress ($34.95), the blue and pink is so fresh and I love the layered look. Wear this dress with a great pair of legging and sneakers or ballet flats or even tights and boots, a hip combi to brighten up the chilly days.

Daily Tea HummingbirdMy other favourite is the Hummingbird Wrap Dress ($34.95), a pretty red number inspired by the beauty of China just like the rest of this amazing collection. The wrap dress is one of Daily Tea’s signature designs with new prints, colours and patterns being released every season. It is an excellent fit for girls with a slimmer frame (like our miss 5)thanks to the cross over neckline and waist detail, we have at least 9 wrap dresses like this on rotation.

Putting together a beautiful Daily Tea outfit is really easy as the collection contains a fantastic selection of leggings and pants in a rainbow of colours to team up with the dresses and tops. You will find you are mixing and matching all the time and with just a few pieces you can create different looks. I often choose Daily Tea when I want my girls to wear similar colours and styles without looking identical (ideal for family photos!).

Over the past five years I have purchased many Daily Tea garments for all of our children and I can not speak highly enough of the excellent fit, high quality materials, durability and easy wash and wear. Our youngest daughter is currently wearing dresses that have been worn by her two sisters before her and they still look fantastic. Tea Collection is already very well priced and when you consider the hand me downs it’s an even bigger bargain.

If you purchase any item from the new Where Did You Get That? Autumn/Winter 2014 category you will receive FREE shipping Australia wide, simply enter the code ‘THAT-WINTER’ at checkout. Offer ends February 14, 2014.

Double Duty Dress

While I (obviously) love shopping for our little ones I am afraid I am not that keen on shopping for myself these days. Like many other mums I know I rarely (read never!) have a free minute to go into a shop alone and calmly browse the aisles and I also feel a little guilty spending money on myself. But with spring now in full swing and a lovely summer holiday in Europe on the horizon I couldn’t resist buying myself this cute little dress when I spotted it in the Target Online Store:

Frill SundressThere are currently lots of lovely trendy spring dresses to choose from but this Frill Sundress ($39) really jumped out to me: it’s bright and cheerful, colourful, easy to wear and very forgiving for my post baby shape (just what I need while I work hard to shift the last baby kilos). I always look for garments that I can wear on different occasions by simply changing the accessories and this dress is absolutely perfect for doing that double duty.

Perfect outfit for a day at the beach

Perfect outfit for a day at the beach

We love visiting the beach and with four young children I am always short of hands and eyes, there is definitely no time to carefully fold clothes or fiddle around with zips and buttons. The stylish Frill Sundress by iconic surfwear brand Piping Hot is obviously ideal for the beach, just slip it on over your bathers, slide your feet in some sweet thongs and off you go. When you’re heading for a swim simply stuff this dress in your bag and if you have to wear it over wet togs the fabric will dry quickly.

Cute Melon ThongsTo save myself time I ordered the dress online and chose Click & Collect, a free service that allows you to pick up your order at your local Target store without having to pay postage. Once they sent me an email and SMS confirmation I just popped into the store to pick it up and while I was there I chose these cute Spalding Thongs ($15) in fresh melon colour to match the dress. These thongs are super comfy and surprisingly supportive (clearly a quality product), I may have to get them in another colour too.

Turqoise Peeptoe WedgeLazy summer days often include a picnic in the park, a yummy barbeque with friends or simple eating out, you can take the beach out of this dress by adding a pair of on-trend wedges (or dressy sandals if you prefer flat) and an eye catching necklace. Because I wanted the second look to be different I avoided going for the lovely melon colour again but chose to highlight the crisp blue and teal colours instead. I chose this necklace ($20) which looks lovely on, now to find the right shoes!

With Christmas approaching rapidly many mums are on the hunt for a gorgeous Christmas outfit, for their little ones but also for themselves. Christmas, New Year’s Eve, work functions and not to forget wedding season, it is going to be a busy month and the perfect dress is not easy to find especially if you have a baby on board. Maternity Sale has got you covered with a great selection of dresses for expecting and nursing mamas and remember, delivery within Australia is free.

Casual or formal, long or short, classic or modern, what do you look for when you are shopping for dresses this season? One of the latest Eve of Eden arrivals is this Emerald One Shoulder Dress ($73), now that will most certainly have the heads turning. Every pregnant woman should live by the saying ‘if you’ve got it, flaunt it’, after all you’ve only got such a short time to enjoy that bump. If you want to sport this eye catching dress this festive season you better be quick as they will sell out in no time.

For those mums who prefer a more traditional colour and like the slimming effect of black the Maxi Knotted Evening Dress ($77) might well be the perfect choice. The draping fit of this dress is very flattering and the full length size will hide little lumps, bumps and swollen legs where needed. The tie under the bust separates and accentuates your belly beautifully. A short version of this dress is available too.

The Pastel Striped Singlet Dress ($65) is a bit more casual but aren’t those colours just gorgeous? These dresses are selling like hot cakes so it’s good a new delivery is due this week, I have already put my name down for one because I would hate to miss out. You know I love stripes and the white belt looks so cute, all I need is a pair of white sandals and a sweet necklace. Being pregnant in summer may not be comfortable but at least I will have lots of stylish summer clothes to cheer me up!

Dressing my bump

Sep 212012

As you all know by now I am currently expecting our 4th child, in fact I am nearly half way already! There is no hiding that growing bump anymore and I am proudly showing it off in gorgeous maternity clothes, I am determined to make the most of the upcoming months. We recently received a wedding invitation and the dress code is formal so now I am on the hunt for beautiful maternity dresses that fit the bill.

I have been browsing online stores ever since the invitation arrived and one of the dresses that caught my eye is this Grecian Drape Maxi Dress ($76.30) by Asos. Such a feminine style and I love the tie that does up at the back. This dress is available in the colours Mauvewood (pictured) and Moonrock and I think they are both stunning. Unlike some dresses from other brands this design is very well priced, after all I will probably only get to wear it once.

I am still indecisive about the length I am looking for, I love the long look but it is a December wedding so maybe a shorter style will be cooler. If I do end up going for something shorter I will probably be looking at something like this sweet Midi Dress with Embellished Cuffs ($76.30) in classic black. The lightweight chiffon fabric is not too heavy and the flowing style will hopefully flatter by baby belly.

You may have heard of Asos before but what you may not know is that they actually offer quite a large range of maternity wear, just looking at maternity dresses alone there are more than 100 different styles to choose from! This Breton Stripe Knitted Dress ($50.87) is obviously not suitable for the wedding but it is totally my style so I think I might get it after all. All it needs is some black leggings and it makes for one lovely maternity outfit.

Little Tee-Tee

Yesterday I had to settle a little argument (one of many to be honest) between my twins. Since I was wearing a dress, the baby was wearing a dress and my oldest daughter chose to wear one my son requested to wear a dress too. Now it has happened before where he had a little turn wearing a princess dress up or tried on a tiara but this time his twin sister told him that dresses and lip gloss are for girls, something that didn’t go down very well. The girls love dresses and they have been admiring the most gorgeous Little Tee-Tee dress that is hanging up ready for Christmas.

You can find the Little Tee-Tee label at Bubzyboo, a lovely new Australian store for babies, kids and even mums. What makes the Little Tee-Tee range so special is that every item is handmade and there is only one size range available of each style. The limited edition garments are lovingly created by an Australian mum of two, who has a passion for beautiful fabrics and materials and her designs are a clear example of her quality craftsmanship. Ribbons, lace, cheese cloth, Little Tee-Tee is all about the sweetest details so it is no wonder mums and little girls are loving it.

My personal favourite is this delightful Arielle dress (RRP $59, available in sizes 0-3 months up to 3 years old), isn’t it utterly adorable? I am determined to take plenty of photo’s this Christmas of my little lady wearing it. I am not usually a big fan of black on young children but somehow the Little Tee-Tee designer has pulled it off, using only the smallest amount of black lace to compliment the antique white cheesecloth beautifully. Now let’s hope my daughter realises that a girly dress like this requires lady like behaviour too, no rough and tumble allowed on Christmas day!
