Over the last few weeks I have provided you with a wide range of non-edible Easter gift suggestions, have you picked up a gorgeous bunny gift yet? I won’t lie, I know very well how hard it is to resist a yummy chocolate treat and sometimes it is like the Easter chocolate aisle is just calling your name and that’s okay (in moderation). The magical Cadbury Easter range is particularly tempting this year with the release of some fantastic new products:

Cadbury Marvellous Creations EggsIf you’re like me and enjoyed sampling all the Marvellous Creations blocks throughout the year you don’t want to miss the return of the special Marvellous Creations Easter flavour. Share the funky flavours of Popping Candy and Raspberry Chips, coated in Cadbury’s signature Dairy Milk chocolate, with your friends and tingle your taste buds with the Cadbury Marvellous Creations Egg Bag (RRP $4.69, 110g).

Cadbury Creme EggI think it will be a safe bet to say that the new Cadbury Crème Egg Jar (RRP $25, 464g) will be one of the biggest winners this Easter season. I know you can indulge in Cadbury Crème Eggs all year around but weighing it almost half a kilo this big egg containing a mix of delicious Cadbury Crème Eggs and Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate would have to be the ultimate creamy Easter gift.

Cadbury Old GoldOf course you can pick up a scrumptious Easter version of your other favourite Cadbury flavours too, score big brownie points and spoil your loved ones with an impressive Cadbury Old Gold Egg (RRP $20, 420g) or Cadbury Dairy Milk Egg (RRP $20, 420g). Thinking of treating your child’s teacher to a tasty treat to enjoy in the Easter holidays? Why not swap the traditional Cadbury Roses gift box for the new Cadbury Roses Egg (RRP 20, 420g).

Cadbury Easter BunnyYear after year it is Cadbury’s most popular Easter purchase and this year the famous Cadbury Dairy Milk Bunny (RRP $5.50, 150g) is back in a new boy and girl version. For kids a chocolate bunny is such a special treat, I remember savouring mine for days taking only a tiny nibble here and there to make it last as long as possible. Whether you enjoy it slowly and go all out, research has shown that most people start at the ears. How do you like your bunny?

Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt PackAs always the annual Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt and Family Picnic at Werribee Park sold out in a flash, which is great news for the Good Friday Appeal who will be the well deserving recipients of all proceeds. Don’t worry, you can still enjoy your very own Cadbury Easter hunt at home with this awesome Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt Pack (RRP $12, 258g). Each pack contains all you need for a yummy Easter hunt: Cadbury Dairy Milk and Caramello Easter Eggs, Easter hunt baskets and a fun activity booklet.

As you may have read I left the old me behind in 2011 and have been working very hard on creating a better, healthier version of myself in 2012. But even if you are on diet you do deserve a treat every now and then and there is nothing easier (and more delicious) than turning your plain coffee into a special Saturday night delight with one of the Alchemy Coffee Syrups.

Australian family businesses Alchemy is all about creating a taste sensation, offering an exciting range of coffee syrups, cordials, chai and Frappulicious flavours that will make your taste buds tingle. For 15 years the Alchemy team of mix masters has been developing unique flavour combinations that are everything but ordinary and their flavoured beverages can be found in many households as well as cafes, restaurants and bars across Australia.

If you thought cordials are something only kids drink you should really try the Alchemy Classic Cordials, there is nothing childish about these flavours. Alchemy has taken all time favourites like lime, melon, orange and pineapple and added a little dash of not-so-everyday ingredients like rose water, coconut and chilli resulting in 6 great syrups that will get the tick of approval from any adult (and kids too!).

Unlike with most other cordials you don’t have to worry about the vibrant colours of the yummy Alchemy Classic Cordials, they are made with all natural ingredients and contain no artificial colours, flavours, artificial preservatives, emulsifiers, gluten or genetically modified organisms so they are safe for young and old. Plus a delicious serve of chilled (bubbly) water or ice mixed with your favourite Alchemy Cordial contains less than half the sugar content of soft drinks, making it a much healthier choice!

Back to those Alchemy Coffee Syrups with names that will make your mouth water. The current Coffee Syrups range consists of 9 great flavours and with choices like Butterscotch, Caramel, Irish Cream, Mint and more there has to be a perfect option for every sweet tooth. Don’t let the name fool you though, these syrups do not just add an extra dimension to your coffee, you can also use them to take your hot milk, dessert or baked goods to new heights. With a selection of Alchemy Coffee Syrups in your pantry you always have something special to offer your guests or to just spoil yourself with.

A New Year’s Eve with Betty

Home, Mum  Comments Off on A New Year’s Eve with Betty
Dec 312011

Even though for many people the new year bringing a new (or rediscovered) passion for healthy eating the last evening of this year will no doubt be full of maybe not so healthy but delicious food and they are so right, you might as well enjoy it and indulge. Maybe you have been invited by friends to share the start of 2012 together whilst enjoying a typical Australian BBQ and yummy snacks brought by all the guests. If you are stuck for ideas on what to bring, and like me you are not much of a talented cook, you can still surprise everyone with a gorgeous plate of Whoopies.

Whoopies are a super hip trend that has blown over from the U.S., combining features of an all time favourite like sponge cake, the highly fashionable (but hard to make) macaron with a creamy filling to die for. If the idea of baking scares you you’ll be pleased to know that it takes just 4 every day ingredients and a packet of Betty Crocker Whoopie Pies for you to create your own little edible artworks. I can assure that if I can do it (see picture) you can too!

When you do your shopping today (don’t forget the two Public Holidays!) make sure you add one or two Betty Crocker Whoopie Pies to your trolley, you’ll find them in the baking aisle. Each pack serves 10-12 guests but you can make the whoopies any size you like: big indulgent, mouth filling whoopies or perfect snack sized mini whoopies. Preparing, baking and resting will take only 30 minutes.

There are currently two different styles of Betty Crocker Whoopie Pies available but the options don’t end there, you’ll find that there are many scrumptious variations possible using the Vanilla Sprinkle and Choc Vanilla Whoopie Pies as a base. Change the colour of the cakes, add spices, play around with the filling by adding fruit or jam, you can go as crazy as you like! To get you started you can find lots of great recipes on

Betty Crocker Whoopie Pies (RRP $5.19) are available from Coles and Woolworths supermarkets Australia wide.
