I am sure it is no surprise to you that in a big family like ours space is always a bit of an issue. Wherever possibly I try to reduce and I love finding multi-purpose products, anything to make everyday life a bit easier and more organised for this busy mama. Recently I emptied out our overflowing cleaning cupboard and cut back to the bare basics, what a difference that makes! If you’re looking for a great all-in-one product to keep you and your house in top shape you are sure to love this gem by Dr. Bronner’s:

From hands to hair, from dishes to dogs, from face to floor, from teeth to toilets and much more, Dr. Bronner’s Pure-Castille Liquid Soap is famous around the globe for its versatile cleaning properties. Made with gentle natural, certified fair-trade ingredients just a few drops of this powerful hemp 18-in-1 soap go a long way and it barely takes up any room in your bathroom cupboard. There are 11 great fragrances to choose from, if you love a light and floral scent the Cherry Blossom Pure-Castille Liquid Soap (RRP $12.95, 237ml) is your match.

Since ditching our soap pump for a traditional bar of soap the family bathroom is not only a lot less messy, my children’s sensitive skin has dramatically improved as well. The kids wash their hands many times a day and most ‘ordinary’ soaps leave their skin red, sore and irritated, but none of that with the delicious Cherry Blossom Pure-Castille Bar Soap (RRP $7.95, 140g). If only the school would start using Dr. Bronner’s too, now that would really make me happy!

Growing up in The Netherlands I used to think that chapped lips were more a cold country problem, but since moving to Australia I discovered that the heat can wreak havoc on your lips too. During the hot summer months we’re surrounded by unpleasant, dry air all day long and it sure ain’t doing delicate lips any favours. Dr. Bronner’s Organic Lip Balms provide a protective barrier to the elements without any synthetic ingredients, yay for soft, moisturised lips without nasties. We love the minty fresh Peppermint Organic Lip Balm (RRP $5.95, 4g).

Little Bellies

This is a sponsored post for Little Bellies and Digital Parents Collective.

After a winter that seemed to go on forever we were finally blessed with some softer weather this weekend. The temperature was absolutely perfect and we soaked up as much of that lovely spring sun as we could, the kids had the best time playing, chasing, jumping and running around on the bright green grass. Saturday’s birthday party was filled with way too many sweet treats so I was very glad to go back to basics with healthy foods. All that playing makes you pretty hungry (and sweaty!), here’s miss 3 settling down for a quick snack (and of course a pat for the baby).

If you are a mum with a baby or young child you may have spotted the Little Bellies range on the snack shelf of the baby food aisle. Little Bellies products are classed as Certified Organic, making them a healthy, junk-free option for our precious little ones. More and more parents are paying close attention to product ingredients (as they should!) and if you are after nutritious, wholesome snacks for your child Little Bellies should be on your shopping list.

Little Bellies Crispy Choo Chews

Little Bellies Crispy Choo Chews

The new Little Bellies Crispy Choo Chews ($3.95 per 6-pack, 12 months+) are easy to hold for little hands and the perfect snack size for hungry little bellies. Each bar is wrapped individually so they’re an ideal snack for in your handbag or baby bag. The bars are made using puffed, wholegrain brown rice and have a yummy vanilla flavour, our little miss 3 is quite a fussy eater at the moment and she gobbled it all up in a flash so I call that mission accomplished. When it comes to feeding young children there is often so much to think about so Little Bellies is keeping it simple with these tasty bars that are free from artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, GMO, gluten, wheat and dairy, how easy is that?

Little Bellies Hoops & Loops

Little Bellies Hoops & Loops

Our little 6.5 month old is quickly finding her way with different flavours and textures too, she is already mastering little lumps and bumps, chomps away on bread sticks and will try to eat any food she can get her hands on. Little Bellies Hoops & Loops ($3.49 per 75 grams) are suitable for ages 9 months+ (not long to go!) and are a great way to encourage self-feeding in young children. Kids love the fun round shape and the puffy melt-in-your-mouth texture makes is easy for toothless gums to work with. Baby Sybil managed to snatch one from her sister and ate it like it was her normal breakfast, she didn’t even blink!

Someone is eyeing off miss 3's Hoops & Loops

Unlike many other kids’ snacks Little Bellies Hoops & Loops are low in sugar and salt (and a great source of iron), which makes them extremely suitable for babies but toddlers love them too. Miss 3 happily picked away at her small handful of Hoops & Loops, it kept her busy, entertained and full until dinner time. As you can see she did have to defend her snack against her grabby crabby baby sister who was very keen to join the fun. Luckily the bags are surprisingly big so there is plenty to share around when she gets older.

May 102012

With the start of kindy just 3 months away I recently picked up the twins’ welcome packs so I can read up on all we need to know and all they need to bring on this new adventure. As three of my children are allergic to dairy I am very aware of allergy policies at schools and I was pleased to see our future kindy is very aware of allergies too. If you are looking for that perfect lunchbox treat that is healthy, tasty and safe you’ll love these yummy bars from Freedom Foods.

The name of the Nut Free Muesli Bars doesn’t actually do them justice, they are not only completely free from nuts but also free from gluten, wheat, dairy, yeast and eggs. Surely a bar doesn’t get any more allergy friendly than that? On top of being safe the bars are tasty too, made with wholegrains, juicy Australian fruit pieces and nutritious seeds. Unlike most bars the ingredients of the Nut Free Muesli Bars are only slightly warmed to preserve nutrients and keep the naturally wholesome flavours.

If you are on track with all the latest health trends you have probably heard about the super food quinoa, this grain is tiny in size but it makes up for it in nutritional properties. The brand new nut free Ancient Grains Super Bar contains a puffed version of this hugely popular grain and together with puffed millet, cereals, seeds and fruit makes for a delicious bar packed full of goodness (think magnesium, antioxidants, protein and fibre).

Since starting my healthy craze on January 1st I have come to understand the importance of a good, healthy breakfast. I never used to have breakfast and just grabbed something quick when I could find a spare minute (some days nothing at all) and never realised the disastrous effect it had on me. I think the Berry Good Morning cereal looks and sounds fantastic and I am very keen to give it a try, cranberries are one of my favourites these days so combined with dates and tasty flakes it has to be a winner.
