With less than four weeks to go until our big holiday I am starting to feel a little pressed for time. Packing for eight, passports and paperwork, preparing school activities for our trip, keeping on top of the housework, every day life with a big family… and don’t forget gift shopping for our family and loved ones! I am so excited to meet my two brand new nephews for the first time and we can’t wait to spoil them with plenty of gifts.

If you’re shopping for a sweet new arrival but are a little short on time (who isn’t these days?) or lack inspiration you are sure to appreciate My Baby Gifts. The clever team behind this fabulous Australian online store takes the hassle out of baby gift shopping by putting together the perfect baby present and delivering it straight to the lucky recipient, packed in a gorgeous gift box. ecostore

I totally get it, after five babies my friends and family really don’t know what to get us anymore for baby no.6. Baby’s wardrobe is already filled with gorgeous clothes and we are fully kitted out with pram, carrier, car seat and other baby gear, all that is left is for baby to grow bigger and stronger before its arrival in September.

However one thing you can always make me, and any other expecting parent, very happy with is a new supply of ecostore goodies. As a big family of ecostore-fans who uses their natural skin, boy and haircare products every single day we always welcome a stock-up, I think it makes the perfect baby shower gift:

ecostore has lovingly developed a fabulous range of baby products that are gentle on your precious bundle and kind on the environment too. Wave goodbye to yucky chemicals, synthetic dyes and perfumes, mineral oils and other hard-to-pronounce ingredients and go green with ecostore. Of course it is not just a great choice for little ones, our whole family uses ecostore Baby Body Wash (RRP $8.99, 200ml). It’s soft on the skin and the lavender/geranium scent is not too overwhelming.

ecostore has your daily clean covered: we used the Baby Body Wash in the shower and for the kids’ bath we add a splash of playful bubbles with the ecostore Bubble Bath (RRP $8.99, 200ml) for extra fun. Hopefully the soothing ecostore Sleepytime Bath (RRP $8.99, 200ml) lives up to its name and will help us get some much-needed sleep when baby has arrived! Did you know the ingredients used in these bath products are so gentle that with proper greywater systems in place your bath water can even be re-used on your flower gardens, lawns and trees?

ecostore Baby Shampoo (RRP $8.99, 200ml) is a plant-based formula that cleanses your child’s hair whilst carefully protecting its natural properties at the same time, it gently strips away the dirt but not the important natural oils. A small amount goes a long way so a 200ml bottle lasts ages, especially if you only have a fine layer of baby hair to wash (unless our new baby surprises us all and is born with a full head of hair!).

I know the ecostore Baby Moisturiser (RRP $9.99, 200ml) was officially created for babies but I often reach for this nourishing moisturiser for my own sensitive pregnant mama-skin too. It is absorbed quickly and the light fragrance is really pleasant and not too strong. Once our baby has been born I can hold him/her close to my skin without worrying about what the baby is breathing in, if it is safe for baby it is safe for me too! This moisturiser is also perfect for a post-bath massage.

It may be small in size and in price but the ecostore Baby Soap Goat’s Milk & Lavender (RRP $2.99, 80g) is by far one of my best finds. This soft, creamy and natural soap is ideal for our older kids who wash hands countless times a day, there is no allergic reaction like they experience with many popular liquid handsoaps (and a block of soap is a lot less wasteful) plus I know they won’t be transferring yucky chemical nasties when they touch our tiny newborn.

To be honest I think the ecostore Nappy Balm (RRP $9.99, 60ml) could do with a new name, as this little jar of magic can be used for so many more things than red bottoms. Yes it does work wonders for nappy rash, but it can also bring welcome relief for cradle cap and other little skin problems, it is one of my first go-to products when our children’s skin is playing up. ecostore Nappy Balm is a wonderful non-greasy, non-staining barrier cream that helps protect your baby’s skin the natural way.

Big Baby Shower – Day 10

Yesterday we talked about going out for a quick walk with a new bub with minimal gear, but we all know that on some days and outings you do want to take more than just the basics. Don’t worry, there are other options than huge boring, black backpacks. Here’s how to bring ‘the bulk’ without it looking bulky and without losing your sense of style.

Calypso Raffle

‘Calypso Satchel’ by gr8x

The spacious Calypso Satchel by Australian label gr8x is a gorgeous baby bag with a convenient double zip around top flap, allowing you to easily see inside and find what you are looking for. No more endless feeling around in the dark hoping to dig up the item you need, we don’t have time for that! Two zipped front pockets will you keep your car keys, phone or lipgloss safe and within hand’s reach.

Made from soft PU leather and with an adjustable shoulder strap the Calypso Satchel (RRP $139.95) is comfortable to wear, even when it’s filled with lots of baby supplies. On the inside you’ll find a soft, padded change mat for hygienic nappy changes on the go and an insulated bottle holder to keep your baby’s drinks at the right temperature when out and about. I love the handy wipe-clean lining, after all life with a baby is full of sticky messes, grubby fingers and unexpected spills.

Elektra Bub

Big Baby Shower – Day 9

Whether you want it or not, sooner or later you will have to leave the house with your new bundle. Personally I found preparation is key and as long as you bring a few essentials you will be just fine. You don’t have to carry a big, bulky baby bag around, simply pop your little must-haves in one of these handy Elektra Bub pram organisers and you’re good to go:

Elektra Bub Pram Organiser

Designed right here in Australia the Elektra Bub Pram Organiser (RRP $29.95, regular and large) allows active Aussie parents to enjoy the outdoors and have all their baby needs within hand’s reach.

Elektra Bub BlackThe compact pouch conveniently attaches to the handle bar of your pram using strong velcro straps, it takes only 30 seconds to get it in place so you’ll be out the door in a flash. The main compartment is the perfect home for a nappy and small pack of wipes, a baby toy, a snack for mum and some dummies while the zipped front pockets are an ideal storage space for your car keys, mobile phone (and a lipgloss).

I love that you can detach the front zipped pocket, that way if for any reason you have to leave your pram outside (it doesn’t fit through the shop door, the change room or toilet is too small or the cafe too crowded) you can still take your valuables with you. On either side of the thermo insulated Elektra Bub Pram Organiser you can store your lovely warm drink and your cold baby/water bottle, keeping them upright and at the right temperature. How handy is that?

Elektra Bub organiser Joolz

When our new bundle arrives later this year I know I will be extremely grateful not to have to drag around a heavy baby bag when I go out for just a quick walk. Nor will I have to bend down low and hurt my back to dig deep in the pram basket hoping to find what I am looking for. I’ll have everything I need close by with this lovely Elektra Bub pram organiser (large, to fit my Joolz) in stylish grey chevron.

The pram organiser is currently available in black, grey chevron and aqua chevron.

To find out more about Elektra Bub, to locate a stockist near you or to order online visit www.elektrabub.com, postage is free Australia wide.
