While Hip Daddy was exploring sunny Japan last week dressed in a short-sleeve t-shirt I tried my hand at (thankfully short-term!) solo-parenting at home where it was definitely far from warm and pleasant. I have discovered I have absolutely zero talent for lighting wood fires and am so relieved hubby is home again to keep us cosy and warm. The older kids are happy to rug up at night and snuggle up under a few thick blankets, but we all know loose bedding is a big no-no for our youngest family members. So how do you keep little sleepyheads warm during Winter?…
Australian designer label ergoPouch takes the guessing out of bedtime dressing with an award-winning range of ergonomically designed swaddles, sleeping bags and sleep suit bags, all made from breathable, skin-friendly natural fibres. The addition of the brand new ergoLayers collection completes the set, ensuring little ones can sleep safely and comfortably anytime and anywhere.
Available in a convenient 0.2 and 1.0 TOG rating the new ergoLayers (size 0-3 months up to 2 years) are the perfect layering solution to be used with the rest of the ergoPouch range. No more wondering what to put on your baby under his/her sleeping bag or sleep suit, now that’s easy! Lovingly created with soft bamboo and organic cotton fabric (and a touch of elastane so your baby can move freely) these gorgeous suits are super gentle on sensitive skin making them ideal for all, even tiny newborns.
Personally I always avoid thick, bulky PJs under a sleeping bag as the restricted movement makes Hattie extremely grumpy and causes her to wake up. ergoLayers on the other hand are nice and snug as well as stretchy and thin, I like to think of them as a reassuring, cosy hug! They have a practical two-way zip for easy nappy changes and fold-over cuffs at the wrists and ankles so you can convert them into mittens and socks if needed.
Simply work out the temperature in your baby’s nursery and refer to the easy-to-understand ergoPouch sleep guide to select the right ergoLayers and TOG-rating combination for your child’s sleeping environment, the ergoEcosystem is all about helping babies (and their parents) get the much needed sleep they need whilst being SIDS-safe and stylish at the same time.

At 18 months old miss Hattie is proving to be a lady of few words, just like Sybil was. She may not say much but Harriet is very clear in what she likes (and dislikes!) and sure knows how to use her vocal cords when it comes to her favourite song. With three older sisters who are crazy about Frozen it is no surprise she can already ‘sing’ along too and I can’t wait to see four sets of little eyes light up next month when we surprise them with a visit to Disney On Ice presents Frozen:
From the moment the world first met royal sisters Anna and Elsa and fell head-over-heels in love with Olaf back in 2013 (really, it has been that long!) everyone has been waiting impatiently for the Frozen cast to put on their ice-skates once again and slide onto the smooth, slippery floor of Disney On Ice. Well the wait is over and they’re about to whirl into Australia, Disney On Ice presents Frozen arrives in Perth on June 2 and will visit Adelaide, Wollongong, Newcastle, Brisbane, Melbourne with the curtains closing in Sydney on July 17, 2017. It promises to be a dazzling 2-hour experience featuring all your much-loved Frozen friends, your all-time favourite couple Mickey and Minnie as well as a host of beautiful Disney princesses and even a visit from loveable characters from Toy Story, Finding Nemo and The Lion King. With such a stellar cast the show is sure to please guests of all ages and I just love how the characters move around the entire stage so that every spectator, no matter where they sit, gets a great view of their personal faves.

Now that my growing baby hump has revealed our big news I can finally start sharing some of my favourite finds for our much loved bundle of joy. I secretly started my shopping a few months ago with a new ride to seat our two littlest ones and last week I added a gorgeous gr8x nappy bag to match, I am super pleased with this stylish travel combo:
If you are a regular Hip Little One reader you no doubt know that I have a soft spot for all shades of blue and I often dress both my girls and my only boy in blue. So regardless of what our new addition will turn out to be (we love our surprises!) I was immediately drawn to the neutral blue colour of the recently released Zoe, doesn’t it look awesome?
Zoe (RRP $99.95, Snowflake Blue) is the latest addition to the gr8x nappy bag range and it is quickly winning hearts across the country. I am not surprised these bags are flying off the shelves, as the spacious but lightweight satchel style bag is packed with clever features that will make life easier for busy parents on the go. After five babies I consider myself a bit of a nappy bag expert and I know exactly what I want and don’t want, so no more miss-buys for me.
Measuring a generous 39cm x 26cm x 17cm in size the Zoe offers plenty of storage space for all your baby’s gear and even some of your own bits and pieces too. Inside you’ll find neat internal pockets to keep everything tidy and organised, on the outside are two smaller front zip pockets (ideal for your car keys or your favourite lip gloss) and a handy end pocket on each side to keep your baby’s and your own drink bottle within hand’s reach.
Personally I just love the clever zip-around top, allowing the bag to open up nice and wide so you can instantly find what you are looking for. Especially when you have a nappy emergency you’ll be glad not to have to dig around in the dark for ages to find a packet of wipes or a clean nappy!
There is plenty more to love about Zoe like an adjustable shoulder strap with comfortable padding, super practical easy-clean canvas fabric and protective metal feet on the base to ensure the bottom of your bag doesn’t get dirty or damaged when placed on the ground. As an extra bonus your new Zoe bag comes with a complimentary soft, padded, change mat and a zipped insulated bottle traveller in matching blue fabric.
Blue may be my absolute favourite colour, but if is not really your shade you’ll be pleased to know that the Zoe bag is also available in neutral and classy Snowflake Grey to perfectly match your monochrome look.
