Isn’t it amazing how well the old man in red knows our children? Even though he only visits once a year he knows exactly what they’re into and how they like to spend their time. Beautifully wrapped and addressed to ‘the girls’ this large Worlds Apart gift delivered just the smiles we expected:

As soon as I laid eyes on the beautiful Rose Petal Cottage (Ages 2+) I could picture our four girls in there; making up stories, playing mums, dads, fairies and princesses, sharing secrets, having tea parties and enjoying the blessing that is sisters. Measuring a generous 108 x 98 x 70 cm in size this lovely home is spacious enough for siblings or friends to share and will provide hours and hours of pretend play fun.

While the old man with the white beard took all the credit for this amazing present Hip Daddy did the hard work and assembled the cottage so the adventure could begin. Setting up was a simple case of first connecting the metal pieces to build the cottage frame, then to slide the frame into the sturdy, wipe clean cover which zips up nice and snug so it stays in place perfectly.

What really makes Rose Petal Cottage so unique and special is that the decorative cover is printed with the loveliest little details on both the in- and outside. On the outside this delightful playhouse features cladded walls, a shingled roof, lanterns, birds, gumboots near the door, flowers and more. It’s pretty much the dreamy cottage you see in your favourite fairytales!

On the inside this sweet house is homey and welcoming with gorgeous details like a doormat, floorboards, a fireplace, a real mirror and a useable shelf complete with photo frame so you can display your favourite picture. It even has a window with country style shutters that open and close!

You can enter Rose Petal Cottage through the cottage door, which can be ‘locked’ with a latch. The door is attached with velcro so you can also remove it completely if you wish (something baby Harriet worked out very quickly). One of the metal poles is conveniently fitted with hinges, allowing you to fully open up the side of the cottage and in doing so extend your play area.

As a special bonus Rose Petal Cottage comes partially furnished with a homey cooking unit, perfect for whipping up a batch of pretend cookies, tasty muffins and yummy pies for little guests. The removable cooking unit has an oven door that really opens (you’ll find a cardboard muffin tray inside to get you started) and the stove top knobs turn like the real deal.

School fundraisers, class parties, birthdays, celebrations, festive lunches and BBQs… it has sure been a busy December month of whipping up tasty treats here at Hip Little One HQ. With a big family like ours there is always plenty of baking to be done, so when I spotted all these gorgeous Paper Eskimo party goods on sale at Little Styles I just had to stock up:

The Paper Eskimo party range includes baking cups, paper straws, cupcake toppers, invitations, styling tags and more and it’s all on sale! To save even more check out the amazing offer below:

For a limited time only save a massive 40% storewide at Little Styles (including sale items!), simply enter the code ‘yes40’ at checkout.

I first discovered the stylish Paper Eskimo Baking Cups (RRP $6.95, now $2.95-$3.95) a few years ago and have been a big fan ever since. They hold their shape beautifully (unlike the cheap thin patty pans) and look super festive and fancy, especially when you have a whole cupcake stand fun! Each tube holds 25 baking cups and you can safely store any spares in the tube for the next party. Don’t forget to use the discount code to save an extra 40%!

I have to admit, the one bargain I am most excited about would have to be the lovely Paper Eskimo Classroom Kits (RRP $15.95, now $4.95). When you use the code ‘yes40’ at checkout they come down to just $2.97, now that’s a steal! These ultimate party packs contain 24 paper baking cups, 24 cupcake toppers, 24 cupcake cello bags & inserts and 24 tags & strings; everything you need to bake, make and take the perfect batch of sweet treats. There are several different colours/prints to choose from so you can find the perfect match for the occasion.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

After a very hot Christmas I’m rather happy with the cool change and the garden is loving the rain, even the kids don’t mind being stuck inside thanks to all the awesome books they received for Christmas. Every now and then I hear some giggling coming from the corner, proof that even after 11 books the Diary of Wimpy Kid series still delivers:

Sometimes you have to be creative to get what you want, something Greg is surprisingly good at in Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Double Down (RRP $14.99). When Greg’s mum hides all the Halloween candy Greg decides to cheat in the school’s balloon competition to win a huge jar of candy corn, except things don’t go exactly as planned and he finds himself stuck with a rather awkward new playmate. To score himself an invitation to a popular Halloween party Greg even goes as far as to join the school band, but playing the French horn turns out to be much harder than he thought it would be.

Unfortunately the truth comes out at the school concert and his dad is far from pleased. Finding himself stuck on home detention and forced to properly learn to play the impossible French horn, without Halloween candy to keep him going, Greg decides to make a scary movie with the help of his friend Rowley…

Today’s blog post is almost as big a tradition as our Christmas Countdown, it’s the Boxing Day sale all the hip mamas are waiting for: the famous Eeni Meeni Miini Moh End of Season Sale kicks off today!

Loyal Eeni Meeni Miini Moh fans know all too well that you have to run to grab your faves, so while everyone is sleeping in or tidying up you better go and fill that shopping basket. Between the Enfant (size 000-18 months), Eeni Meeni Miini Moh (1-5 years) and e3-M (2-12 years) collections the current sale has all stylish kids covered, so now is the time to stock up for next season at fabulous prices. Here are our top sale picks:

For older girls I can highly recommend the gorgeous Trapeze Dress (RRP $89.95, now $59.95), this lovely light summer dress is one of my daughter’s (8 years old) favourites this year. I love that you can adjust the shoulder straps to create the perfect fit, this also allows you to wear it for longer. Her twin brother thinks the Stripe Polo T-Shirt (RRP $49.95, now $34.95) is super comfy ands sneakily I am chuffed to get away with twins in matching colours.

With the season of parties and celebrations now in full swing girls are sure to get lots of wear out of this pretty Tulle Dress (RRP $89.95, now $59.95), it’s such a festive design and it’s available in three different colour ways. I know my girls would feel like a real princess wearing this! Boys can enjoy an active and playful summer without giving up on style in Eeni’s Signature T-Shirt (RRP $44.95, now $29.95) with a funky Kale Gives Me Super Powers Print in neon orange.

There are plenty of great bargains for the littlest ones of the family, but I can personally guarantee you that the La Princesse Bodysuit (RRP $59.95, now $39.95) will get you loads of compliments. Every time our miss Hattie wears it people ask me where to get it from and if I can say so myself it does look super cute on her, at the current sale price is it sure to fly out the door.

You can pick up your favourite sale items at the Eeni Meeni Miini Moh store in Bowen Hills (Brisbane) or shop from the comfort of your couch in the Eeni Meeni Miini Moh + e3-M Online Store.

Roadshow Entertainment

Once the excitement and stress of Christmas has died down I think we’re all in desperate need of some rest and relaxation. What better way to wind down than to plate up the Christmas leftovers, put up your feet and enjoy a fun family movie everyone will enjoy:

>

In a time where profits take top priority it is no surprise that storks have moved on too. Fewer people request beautiful babies and more place online orders, so instead of delivering little bundles of joy Storks have become expert feathered couriers for online customers.

Delivery stork Junior has been well trained by global internet giant Cornerstore.com to safely courier packages to its customers, in fact he is such a top-bird that he is up for a promotion. Junior may know all about delivering ordinary parcels, but when a series of accidents results in a totally adorable baby girl being produced by the retired Baby Making Machine he is scratching his feathers not knowing what to do. Together with his human friend and co-worker Tulip, Junior sets off to complete his first-ever baby drop before the big boss finds out.

It’s a wonderful, adventurous journey that once again sees the storks doing what they’re destined to do: Make big wishes come true and deliver babies to their families.

Storks is now available on 3D Blu-ray (RRP $49.95), Blu-ray (RRP $44.95) and DVD (RRP $39.95) at major retailers across Australia.
