As if preparing for a holiday for a whole family wasn’t stressful enough my wonderful tribe managed to bring home a nasty flu last week that took down all of us, one by one. I don’t think I have ever been that worried about the possibility of having to cancel a holiday! Packing suitcases with five sick little people around was not exactly quick but thankfully I was able to keep the big three entertained with movies and books and our 3-year old troublemaker was quiet for hours with this gorgeous set by BRIO:
The BRIO Horse Stable (ages 3+) is a gorgeous toy play set that contains all you need for some fabulous pretend play: A spacious and rather luxurious horse stable that fully opens up, 2 horses, 2 jockeys and some fun accessories for your day at the stables. Once the jockeys comes back from their ride they can dry off their horses and let them rest up in their individual stables while the riders head to the barn to fill up their wheelbarrow with fresh hay.
Watching my kids use their imagination to come up with new stories is so much fun, I will never get sick of listening to their little voices as they play. Pretend play is really important for young children as it helps them to develop their creative skills and use their imagination and I think the Horse Stable really encourages this kind of learning through play, plus it is a great tool for practising fine motor skills as well so it’s a double win!
The quality of this BRIO set is absolutely outstanding, you can tell immediately that it is super strong, durable and built to last. The doors and hinges are robust and smooth and the individual components click in and slot together perfectly. The different materials (plastic, wood and metal) are finished beautifully with rounded corners and lush, shiny colours.
One of the things I really like about this fantastic range is that it is gender neutral and that you can grow your BRIO world one piece at a time. The BRIO Horse Table is obviously great fun on its own but you can also use the included connector piece and attach it to the wooden track and go from there. You can extend the track, add more buildings, welcome new animals, grow your vehicle park, build nature; structures, bridges, tunnels and much more so you are never short of new adventures. This piece-by-piece concept is great for families on a budget and it makes birthday and Christmas gifts a breeze.
