The closer I get to our delivery date, the more hospital appointments I need to attend. A blood test here, an ultrasound there, some extra blood pressure checks… as three of my children were born early I know how important those last-minute checks are as things can change in a matter of days. Miss Sybbie is being an absolute trooper waiting patiently with me every time, thanks to her little backpack filled with (healthy!) snacks and some crafty entertainment from Crayola:
This handy Coloring & Activity Pad with Markers (RRP $8.49, ages 3+) featuring Peppa Pig has already saved my sanity on many occasions, it may be compact in size (and packs up neatly) but there are actually 32 pages inside so that’s a lot of colouring fun. The big kids do the puzzles and games while Sybbie loves decorating Peppa and George, as well as her fingers/clothes but luckily the markers are washable so no stress from me.
Of course the Giant Coloring Pages Peppa Pig (RRP $8.49, ages 3+) are not exactly handbag size, at our house these huge posters go on the kitchen table or even the floor so multiple kids can sit around and draw together. They keep little artists busy for ages and once finished their creations brighten up doors, cupboards and the fridge for weeks (if not suited to your decor they make a great handmade gift for grandma too!).
If you have a big family like ours and are looking for on-the-go entertainment that’s excellent value for money the Color & Sticker Peppa Pig (RRP $4.99, ages 3+) is just what you need. Each child can pick his/her favourite from 48 different designs (24 double sided pages) and there are 2 big sticker sheets with 75+ stickers to decorate their art with. I love that the thick paper sheets come separately so you don’t have to rip pages out of a book. Pop a box of markers in your handbag, add one of these kits and you’ll never hear ‘I’m bored’ again.
