Penguin Australia

As you may have guessed our bookshelf has a mix of English and Dutch books on it and of some titles we even have both the Dutch and the English version. I guess it says something about the popularity of a book when it is translated in multiple languages and the kids love comparing the words. Whether you call him Rupsje Nooitgenoeg (Caterpillar Neverenough) or The Very Hungry Caterpillar, everyone loves this adventurous little critter and his insatiable appetite and now even the youngest kids can start enjoying Eric Carle:

Eric Carle Cloth Book

The Very Hungry Caterpillar: Cloth Book is a gorgeous soft and very huggable cloth book that makes a wonderful first introduction to the famous Eric Carle story. There are eight colourful pages featuring eye catching illustrations accompanied by some simple words and sentences, teaching babies a selection of fruits and other easy words like moon, stars and leaf.

Whether you just read what’s on the pages, stick to the original Eric Carle story or use your imagination and create your own version, there is lots of room for variety. Practise the names of the fruit or talk about different colours, it’s amazing how much you can with this sweet book. Little ones will love flicking through the pages, you don’t have to worry about your baby bending or ripping them and there’s no chance of accidental eye poking with sharp corners.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar: Cloth Book comes packaged in a beautiful gift box making it a perfect present for a new arrival or a baby shower.
