For today’s Sunday Coffee I have invited the lovely Angela from Rube & Harri, a beautiful Australian children’s sleepwear brand. Often sleepwear receives a lot less attention than daytime clothing, even though many children spend at least half of their day in it! Angela makes up for it with a wonderful range that is a delight for the eye.

Find out about Angela’s personal favourites and the reason behind Rube & Harri at Hip little one.

What does your ideal Sunday look like?
My ideal Sunday would involve a leisurely breakfast (on the verandah of our house…weather permitting) including a large coffee and a breakfast burger fron Wendlands Deli/cafe just down the road. Following that, the rest of the day would entail either going on an outing with the kids to the park or similar, or lunch with family and/or friends.

Why did you start Rube & Harri?
I began Rube and Harri because I found it impossible to source classic style pyjamas for my daughters. I am not a fan of licenced prints and saw a gap in the market at the time. I decided to create my own line, designing everything from the fabric up.

Where do you draw your inspiration from?
Initially from my two daughters (and now from my son as well). I am also inspired by the seasons…think warm and cosy for winter, and fresh light for spring/summer.

What is your favouriteRube & Harri design from the current range?
There are so many I love, but if I were to pick just one for the girls it would be the Kate. I love the combination of the fresh white top with the gorgeous floral pant. For boys I love the Archer. It is bright and fresh and looks equally fantastic on my two year old son as it does on his eight year old cousin.

What can we expect of Rube & Harri in the near future?
I can’t give too much away, but my Spring/Summer range is inspired by the gorgeous Brighton beach huts. It will be bright, fun and fresh, while still maintaining the classic elements my customers come to expect.
