Some parents say they don’t have time to sift through the many products available in stores to find the ones that are eco-friendly and I understand that. Luckily eco-conscious baby and children’s stores are getting more popular so it is definitely getting easier but what about products that are not child-related? The lovely Cherie decided to take her ‘green’ store one step further and has filled Passionfroot with a fabulous range of sustainable and ethical products, not just for kids but also for your home and garden, your body and even jewellery, gifts and stationary.
Most mums will check out the children section first (we are just programmed that way) and the hooded Cuddledry towels are just gorgeous, especially the Cuddlemoo toddler design. The Cuddledry range is made with organic cotton and natural bamboo fibres so these towels don’t just look fabulous, they are safe and super soft too. If your kids hate getting out of the shower/bath these cheeky towels might win them over, because which child does not like dressing up like a cow or ladybug?
Within the Cuddledry range there are 3 baby styles ($59.95, white, blue and pink) and two toddler designs ($79.95, cow and ladybug) available. The generous sizing of the towels will keep the cold shivers at bay and ensures longer wear. Bamboo fabric is known to be quick to absorb moisture so baby will be dry in no time, great for impatient kids who can’t go wait to get back to play after their bath.
I have a soft spot for beautiful stationary and Passionfroot has got plenty of that on offer. I try to keep a generous supply of greeting cards, gift cards and wrapping paper on hand so that I am prepared for any occasion. These Australian made gift tags are a lovely way to add a short message to a present, each pack of 10 tags ($10) contains 5 different designs and the cards are printed on 100% post consumer recycled paper.
Yesterday we spent the day in the garden and at the garden centre, getting ready to start our own vegetable patch. In the shop the twins ‘illegally’ removed some of the paper name tags of plants while I wasn’t looking. Not that those cards last long in the garden anyway, these terribly stylish Ceramic Garden Labels ($5.95) are a much more durable and better looking alternative. Surely that takes the boring out of herb gardens!
To find out more about Passionfroot, to browse the extensive range of green products and to order online visit www.passionfroot.com.au. Shipping for Australian orders is at a flat rate of $9, orders over $100 ship free.

The Makedo Connector System Find & Make range is a great idea. It encourages kids to reuse items around their house and make them into something fun. These kits would help to stimulate their creative side and get their imagination going. The car one is my favourite. My son would love it and he could acually sit inside it.
